Personally, I often find it very sexy still having some lingerie on when I'm having sex. Naked feels great but sometimes with a little lingerie left it feels to me like we were too eager so get to each other that the lingerie was just pushed aside rather than wasting time taking it off and that is very exciting.
However, I know lots of guys like their woman completely naked (as I prefer my men!).

When I was a lot younger, as Carrie described, I was too eager and left my socks on while ripping my clothes off. The socks seemed to be a big turn-off for my partner. In retrospect (and after looking at a mirror), I agree. A guy who is butt-naked with socks on is indeed a turn-off. LOL.
Personally, I think stockings and a garter belt are a huge turnon. I've heard this is so because guys of my generation grew up looking at Playboy Playmates who wore exactly that. Well, yeah, we did more than just look, too.....

Carrie, I too like something on. Nothing better that the sight of a thong still there in the mirror or in certian positions (Ruff Ruff). I like garters and stockings on playboy models, but in the bed, I want it more realistic. Even granny panties can have their appeal, when the mood is right. lol I had better get off this topic.
If I was forced to pick one answer, I would choose completely naked. But I agree with you that leaving something on gives that intense, eager feeling, which can be a real turn-on. My favorite there would be to leave the panties on, and just shove them to the side a little bit. That also provides some extra friction of a different type.
I have seen a few ladies who preferred to wear a bustier because it hid their stomach. They didn’t have to, in my case, but I think it made them feel more comfortable (so much the better for me.)
The one turn-off for me, strangely enough, would be thigh high stockings, or stockings and garter belt.

My favorite: A beautiful woman, freshly bathed, smelling of soap, wearing a pajama top with no bra, in a bed with clean sheets, in a cold room lit only by firelight.
...firelight is an idea I find very appealing along with everthing else you suggest. I would add lots of covers for the bed. Nothing like being all snuggled up under lots of covers when the room is cold. Also I do like stockings and a garter belt but not much of a fan of heels at least once the action starts.
I am one who enjoys lingerie clad ladies. No sense in taking it off unless you don't want to chance damaging the goods or it's something that is 'in the way'. Better yet, use it as part of the play. I think a woman should never come to bed totally naked.
