Do you rates would increase or decrease if providing was decriminalized? What about the quality of service? What venues do you think women would end up using? Think things would go back to European style brothels?

or that many more women or men, for that matter, would participate in the hobby if it were legal than do now.

This is just based on looking at rates in other countries similar to the US that have legal sex-work, such as Canada.

As a result it may not be a good comparison. Sort of like the legal brothels in NV aren't a good comparison.

I'd compare to Amsterdam.

But given the way things are going, I think legalization is just pie in the sky and what is more likely is criminalizing the client side and treating the provider side as a crime victim.

I'd have had more hope, with that "Prohibition" series on public TV right now, that the general public would get reasonable about the vices and steer LE energy toward more worthwhile targets. Unfortunately the Petition is accumulating signatures at a glacial pace, so I'm starting to despair of it reaching its 5K signatures on time.

Time to get my passport done so I can go on hobby vacations in the North.

Breath I say just breath!!!

Its not going legal in my career time and wont most likely in yours.
Te USA is not at all liberal and wont be anytime soon.

Shit we have isssues with birth control still   prostitution is ages away from *OK* in the minds of most out there.
Law makers cant get behind it,its bad for their careers its a career killer.

Like I said...just breath.

If for some reason I was wrong...no not much would change Indys do not want to go to work for someone else and take a pay cut. Thats foolish!
Rates for te most part would not change.

Dear Katie:
Considering that they would now be required to pay taxes on their donations, they would have to go up or they would have to see more hobbyist in order to have the same profit margin. Plus one would wonder how much they would go up for the top spots such as New York,Chicago and LA. Now they could be seen and in addition it would be good for them to a certain extent because now they would be eligible for Social Security. However that would bring an argument from providers who would be over 65? Because if they collected how much would they be allowed to work before they were 66 when there isn't a penalty? However I am sure just as in any other business the consumer will always pay.
