I'm traveling to several countries in Latin America and would be grateful for any assistance. I've done some research on a few of the international boards with varying results. I plan to travel to Costa Rica, Colombia, and Cuba. Here is what I have found so far, I will certainly pass along my experience afterwards.
ISG (International Sex Guide): Decent Colombian section, but weak on the others. Poorly laid out and hard to find info to prepare for a trip.
Mongernetwork: Great Cuba & Costa Rica sections, entertaining stories. Limited Colombia info. Very helpful members. Guide to Havana is a must read.
Costa Rica Ticas: Finding info on this site is like finding dress socks in a large pile of clothes. Very disorganized and members hostile towards questions.
Worldsexguide: Not much current info on this site.
I have found ISG to be by far the most informative, but I agree that the layout of the site sucks.
I would advise that you visit Costa Rica first, before traveling to either Cuba or Colombia if you have never been to Latin America before, especially if you don't speak spanish very well. Costa Rica is sort of "Latin America lite" and command of the Spanish language, while helpful, is far from an absolute necessity. As you travel to Cuba or Colombia you will find it a bit more difficult to get around if you don't speak the language, but I am living proof the you can still get around even if you don't speak spanish. My spanish sucks, but I seem to manage just fine. It can be a bit difficult when you get off the beaten path however.
One thing you will find about most Gringo mongers and monger sites, they are geared for guys on a budget and populated by a bunch of cheap fucks who don't seem to care about quality. If you are on a limited budget that's great, but if you have a few bucks you don't mind spending the quality of your experience will increase ten fold. You don't have to spend a fortune, and Colombia, and especially Cuba are fabulous bargains compared to the states. Costa Rica has experienced quite a bit of inflation over the last several years, but pussy is still quite a bargain. Everything else in Costa Rica is about the same price as in the US.
ISG has it's strong points, but Latin America isn't one of them.
I think Mongernetwork has the best Latin America section. It has a more comprehensive layout, and includes guides and whorehouse maps in different cities. Much more user friendly. This map is a riot.
I'll also agree that some of the guys on these sites are cheap asses. I'm all for a bargain, but CRT guys take it to a new level.
