Know what I mean?

I sure do. I took it as humorous all the way and played it that way. Didn't know you'd been getting flak. Kisses and hugs to ya. BTW, you're still young. Live, kid. Have fun while you can. Don't let a man or woman you want get by and don't let 'em hang around when you're done with 'em. Life's too short; but man, is it ever good!

How many of you gentlemen would like a woman to approach you at a bar or even at a grocery store, even if she looked like she was 60? I'm sure most of you will talk about "only the hot chicks" but I've been dieing to ask this question.  I'm figuring that most would say "yes" at first, but really think about this. These women can even approach you in a mall. Of course, I'm talking about if you were alone or with a male friend? What would your reaction be?  Oh boy, here come the jokes.  Wink!

Hugs,
Ciara

To adopt me?

Seriously, I'll be flattered.

In my mid-thirties, some guy called and asked to meet me a at hotel -- for an "affair". I turned him down. It took me months to figure out who he was. I was a little angry at first; then I felt sorry for him and eventually I felt flattered.

I took it for granted that everyone knew (wink) what I was talking about. I mean "to go out on a date, to have a quickie, whatever the heck you want."

Hugs,
Ciara

. . . from a college student; it was 2 years ago when I was 48. It was not a direct approach but she followed me in a university library to a stack of highly technical books and asked me all sorts of questions. I had a class in an hour so I didn't follow through with it.

Probably not, I hadn't started hobbying then. I was  a little shy.

I would do it now. :)

I have been approached - a 42-yr. old mother of a kid on my daughter's soccer team approached me!  so, yea - it was ok.... did not follow through for a wide variety of reasons... but boy was I tempted...  are you thinkin of approaching anyone?  green perhaps???   or maybe a resident of philly!!!!     heee hee hee hee....

I have no problem approaching a gentleman if I'm really attracted to him, given the appropriate circumstances. Obviously, I wouldn't approach a guy if he were with another woman (in case she was his wife or girlfriend) or possibly a young daughter or son. I'm already guessing it would be flattering, but what I really want to know is if you'd be receptive to women approaching you for a date?

Hugs,
Ciara

Yes, I would be receptive. . .

. . . after screening, that is. :)

you were not attracted to the lady?  Just curious.

Hugs,
Ciara

I would just chat with her if I was not sexually atracted to her.

I would probably pretend that I didn't know what she was talking about. :D

her ex husband - who I know and also like and did not wish to hurt his feelings - but there was a blond!!  same group of moms who I also was attracted to.... wow!!!  Actually did date her.....  very nice time and gentlemen don't tell.... hee hee - I am a Gentleman....  well sort of.....  depends on what your definition of gentleman is - or is is.......    well maybe not by most definitions - actually not be any definition - definately not.... never......

I'd still try to engage her in conversation. Why?

Because she has FRIENDS! LOL

really, she is taking a leap of faith and I may not be energized by her at that moment, time will tell. I certainly wouldn't be offended or bothered and would never be rude. What would that accomplish?

Besides, most of the time, I'm just oblivious and don't know what is happening until too late to act upon it.

Bizzaro Superdude2527 reads

The approach was extremely subtle.... but very direct - anyone overhearing the conversation would not have guessed what was going on - that I was attracted however, was transparent - my ex - commented on the fact that I liked hanging out with my daughter's soccer team because of the "hot mommies" !!! hee hee - she thought that the lady in question was 28!! When she found out that this specific lady was OLDER than she is - she about had a heart attack...  and asked if she looked as good as her.......

lol!!!  life - its for fun.........

Oops - gave that one away didn't eye????  hee hee

but it was more common when I was married.  On a few occasions I attempted to follow through, but then the woman demurred.  I think women do it to amuse themselves or to exercise their lofty powers.  Now I just play along, but don't follow though.  Hobbying is much more interesting.

when we're in a relationship than when we're single. I guess we must portray a more confident demeanor when we're involved with someone else, so that is attractive to the opposite sex.

there is more "thrill to the chase" when you see an object of desire that you "can't" have.  I think that this is a two way street also, IYKWIM.

Aside from this profession -- and on a professional level -- I would not hit on a man during my "free time" who I knew was married. Just my choice. That doesn't mean I look down at others for doing it, obviously. There are certain factors that go with certain situations, though, and I do understand them.

strange? 'cause it violates the commandment 'thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's wife' and we all like to be law breakers sometimes.

Watch what you say about 60 year old women, though.

But to answer your question, Ciara, I have become extremely aroused over time by many women to whom I was not initially attracted. In other words, the woman who approaches me would not have to be hot - she would become very desirable to me in relatively short order.

I merely meant by 60-year-old women that if you would go out with a woman a little older (possibly than yourself) if she hit on you? Would age matter? I guess that's another question, eh?  Wink!

Hugs,
Ciara

It has happened, but always with extreme subtlety.  In my experience women always leave themselves an escape route. I suspect that I put out signals myself, usually a smile, or ending up in the same aisle as they.  They get the picture and will often joke "We've got to stop meeting like this."  Sometimes my smile is open admiration of their attractiveness to which the response is a big smile of appreciation.  Never has gone further, but we both seem to both know that if the world worked differently we would end up in a world of passion.

Don't think I've been approached cold by someone since i was a kid!

Since I would be alone or w/ a male friend, anyone who knows me will tell you I'd flirt w/ you and see where it went.  That way we could get a quick feel for each other b/4 the "real" feel.

Never been approached by a Ciara, not even the one from Buffalo, so....  have you ever thought of coming to the Big Apple?  Oops, sorry.  We haven't met yet. LOL

I don't have any plans on visiting it soon. What about Phoenix?  Wink!

they want hot people only, all others eewwww!!!  Men just don't laugh at people who don't know, like women do.

Everybody knows what makes women hot, so it's easy for them.  Nobody knows what makes men hot, so they have to substitute wallet size instead.

Everybody knows that, and this too:  http://www.spellcheck.net/

My bookkeeper and assistant Lucy Van Pelt will be invoicing you for psychiatric advice, $5K, paypal or credit card or cashiers' check, Thank You.

I've never thought that men and women were identical. I never said I'd even approach you. I'm just curious to get opinions. I'm not necessarily asking for me. I don't even hit on men these days -- don't have time -- but I am curious about what you guys think. As for me, it's not about looks. Sorry to dampen your image. Oh, and thanks for the spellcheck information. Sometimes even editors are terrible writers. Remember, some of us also use the AP style for writing or the "I don't give a crap because it's an email" style.  Hey, doctors are the worse spellers, or is your alias just an alias.  Wink!

Hugs,
Ciara

If I were in the mood and I felt that it worked for me.... sure.

I wouldnt hesitate.

It would have to be at the right moment with the right person.  However, if someone hit on me I'd always be polite and appreciative no matter the outcome. Wink!

Hugs,
Ciara

Yes, I am greatful for any attention that is affirming.

I was in NYC for an art show this weekend and I made eye love with a woman across a crowded resturant for three hours. It was lovely. She was lovely. I think it would have been rude not to have returned the attention.

My wife's 63 and she looks good to me.

Guys, the question posed was not meant to mean that 60-year old women aren't hot. I'm asking this because the nature of this business is men seeing younger women. Let's face it, most providers are between 19 and 35.  However, there are those exceptions - like myself. Wink! Now, let's not take this out of context.  I just mean would you be open to being picked up by a woman, no matter how old or unattractive you might think she is in the real dating world? Please don't read into it any further. I'm just curious about it.  Plus, I am curious whether some of you will talk about older women.  Honey, believe me, I'm all for older women. I'm one myself.
H E L L O!!!!!!

Hugs,
Ciara

then that's your perogative.  I'm really surprise that you guys can bring up much more serious posts but not get bashed for it. I am simply curious as to what you'd do if someone approached you. I told you, I'm an older provider myself, so you're wrong about your assumption and I'm terribly sorry you took it that way. This was a fairly innocent post,so if you can't be nice then don't respond at all. Frankly, I don't like being called a liar and neither would you. So who are you anyway? You hide behind your alias.

Hugs,
Ciara

I see why one reviewer wrote, "...be aware not to write anything that will offend. You will be finished immediately." I don't want to get into a spat with someone as nice as you are. I was just coming back at ya, hon...don't take me so seriously. BTW, it's not an alias. If it were an alias, you wouldn't see an envelope or no. of reviews.

-- Modified on 11/20/2005 7:28:56 PM

Oh, sorry, I didn't see the smiley. After all the flack lately, nothing would surprise me. My apologies to you, hon. Actually, the review of what you read just meant don't be rude or classless when emailing me for an appointment. He knows what I'm talking about, but it was nothing serious. After all, when you get to be my age it's either humorous or bull..... Know what I mean?

Hugs,
Ciara

I sure do. I took it as humorous all the way and played it that way. Didn't know you'd been getting flak. Kisses and hugs to ya. BTW, you're still young. Live, kid. Have fun while you can. ...and I'd adore her just for paying me some attention.

are overly sensitive about the question, especially about the age thing. Gees! Perhaps I'm curious because I'm older too, so I especially didn't see a problem in asking about picking up ladies.  And, let me rephrase it again, even if they're in their 60's (meaning: would you accept the flirtation and go out with her, too).  However, that was not the main question. Comprehend the grammar. The question was already posed, the other part came afterward: "even if she's in her 60's." There's all different ages on this Board, so it certainly wasn't meant to be mean. I hear from guys/hobbyists all the time about their need for younger women. And come on, guys, you know it as well as me. So I think about the question I'm posing. It's reasonably harmless. Yes, you might go out with someone regardless of her age, or no you probably wouldn't. By mainly, I wanted to know if you'd even feel comfortable someone hitting on you in public and being so bold about it, and we're not talking the bar scene after you've already been flirting. Wink!

Ciara

How old is Sophia Loren?  or Linda Evans... or Bo Derek.... or Christy Canyon... or Well you get the picture.....   and I might ask.... how old is well, you pick Ms. Ciara.... let us in on who it tis that you have a tizzy about.... enquiring minds want to know..... or no.... or well you get the picture.... lol, I crack me up - cause at 57 -- I still got it.... whatever it is... hee hee.

but they're an exception. Most ladies (not in Hollywood) don't look like that when they're older (not without a facelift anyway). Darn!  Remind me that I need to get one of those. Wink!

Ciara

...44. One of the sexiest ladies I've ever met was 59.

It depends on the lady. Her smile. Her intent.

There have been gorgeous men (or so I interpreted them to be), biker dudes, executives, constructions guys, casino managers, athletes, etc. It just depends on the chemistry.

Hugs,
Ciara

I've been waiting to hear some different responses.  I, too, have to feel some chemistry for someone. That can come in the form of how he speaks, how he carries himself and -- most importantly -- if he makes me feel like a lady. It also is a turn-on to smell some nice cologne. Wink!

In which an older actress of some note (I think Andie McDowell) looks into the camera and says, "for all you older guys who only date younger women, we don't miss you!"

Ciara - maybe you should take up advertising....  !??!

..Never has happened to me, so I guess I would appreciate it (and most likely accept the offers), not matter what she looked like.

And no, I am not joking.  I have honestly never had a women approach me at all...

Bizzaro Superdude1531 reads

Women tend not to say something like, "hey baby, how would ya like to play hide the salami in these (points to her whatevers)?"  They are more subtle and ask something closer to, "My goodness but that new movie (insert name here) is certainly interesting and I would love to see it.  Have you seen it yet?"  AND you have to watch out for all kinds of body language - did she turn to you when she was talking, did she moisten her lips when talking, were the pupils of her eyes dilated....   what was her respiration rate......  did she or did she not fiddle with her hair, nails, keys, pocket book, sweater, skirt, braceklet, anklet, toilet... you get the drift....  so reach down into the old memory bank and I am sure that somewhere down there is an un-intercepted signal....

...Scanning memory banks....

...scanning...

Nope.  Never happened...  I am someone who always seemed to have friends, and nothig more.  Oh well, at least my wife puts up with me, and the wonderful women who I see keep me happy...

All she can say is "no" but don't let it hurt your feelings. She might already be in a relationship, she might be too tired to talk, she might still be hurting over someone else, etc. When I was younger and went to bars more frequently, I would always ask men to dance because I love to dance and if one said no then I would move on to another prospective dance partner. It didn't bother me if I got rejected. There are always more fish in the sea, right?

Hugs,
Ciara

that salami?

Hey, some people just don't like to dance. Or, perhaps he was waiting for a cute lil' brunette. Who knows?

Hugs,
Ciara

Yes, in fact, the first few encounters in my life were just about that situation: not 60 years old mind you, but they weren't attractive, unfortunately.  Yes, and I followed through even with friends present.  They were pretty aggressive come ons.

I wouldn't do that now, CiCi.  The reason I'd do it then and not now is that I had a hyper-sex drive and an amazing imagination.  Spontaneous hard-ons were a given and three ejaculations a day
was the average.

Now, I wouldn't do it because there's not much excess drive to share anymore.  Moreover, if it turns into a relationship, I couldn't keep interest.  So, I've become more selective.

It's always appreciated. You're such a sweetheart!

Hugs,
Ciara

Is she remotely bright or does she at least communicate well?  Does she like to laugh?

Bring her on!

a bed wetter and a thumb sucker, instead of a bed warmer and a French tease. Wink!

Hugs,
Ciara

I snore, I think.  But that's a small price to pay for the total bliss I would bring into your life.

The only thumb I'd suck is yours and it's you that's going to wet the bed when I French and tease you.
