TER Trolling is an ongoing issue & the main reason why the majority of providers don’t post on TER forums. I am fully aware that some people here take trolling to another level. If this pertains to you please don’t be in denial.

Trolling: the consequences on victims & perpetrators | Slater ...
Trolling is deliberately posting inflammatory, offensive, or off-topic content online to provoke arguments, emotional reactions, or disruption, often under anonymity for amusement or malicious intent.

The ignore feature here on TER could help. There are options. I wish TER allowed ignoring some trolls aliases.

Online trolling done anonymously and linked to psychological traits like psychopathy and sadism, but also stemming from boredom or a desire for attention.

I thought that the "Ignore" feature was only to prevent people from emailing you. Does it affect the ability to post on a thread or anything else?

Attention seekers, and Legacy-clingers are another problem. They often post repetitive, low-effort content. The likes they seek are like a drug for someone who’s ego is depleted.

When someone is constantly feeding the machine for attention, and then complains about backlash, the irony is pretty thick. Honestly, these types should be happy people respond at all, otherwise the Clout-chaser becomes truly irrelevant.

On the other hand, it’s a bold strategy to seek validation from the internet and act surprised when the internet provides an honest opinion.

It mutes them so you don't see them. They can still see you and it does not prevent them from posting on threads, including ones you start and commenting on what you say.

I'm not really a fan of it. I've had situations where I felt I was being attacked over and over again. I reported it to TER and was told to just ignore them. I was like, really so they can shit on me and I become defenseless because I cannot see it?

Thanks for the answer.  You bring up some salient points.

If one spends so much time on a website that they notice trolls, it usially means thsy are spending way to much time on the website and are actually a troll themselves and do not know it.

Comments are only inflamatory if one allows them to be.

someone posted.  You get a message instead that this poster is on ignore.  However, the failure in this system is that it doesn't work on anyone posting with an Alias, and that is why, as QB points out, many providers won't come here.  If they could put aliases on ignore like they can member usernames, I think more providers would come.

Knowing that I'm a controversial poster and many don't have an appreciation for everything I post, I have posted with my username on all boards after 2015, which is when I realized that aliases can't be blocked.  Some of the lightweights here have had me blocked for many years and I prefer that than having to engage with them.  Once I know I'm blocked by someone, I'm not going to reply to them.  Right now, there are only three that I know of.  One was a monger and two were providers.  You can find out if you are blocked by someone by sending them a PM.  If you are on ignore, you will get a notice that the PM did not go through.

Your blame the victim definition of trolling isn’t a realistic depiction of who trolls are and what they do.

I'm old enough to know it serves no purpose to troll or be trolled.  I may leave a snarky comment here and there, but that's all.  The people who get triggered are young and/or emotionally immature.

Many, if not all, trolls are nobodies seeking attention. Accordingly, I think the Keyboard Warrior sobriquet serves them well!

Good for you!  However, I would disagree that it is only the "young" as I see many "older" vets here equally emotionally immature.

True, which is why I said "younger, and/OR" emotionally immature. :)

…never put anyone on ignore because i frankly don’t care

as long as they are not sending SWAT teams to my house, i couldn’t care less

but also, i respect the platform’s right to ban and censor anyone - the 1st amendment doesn’t apply here

I don't know who is a Troll and who isn't .  I do know a lot of posts turn into pissing contest. We should all remember the hobby is a luxury that we should enjoy, not argue about. Also many thanks to the lovely ladies who make this hobby possible. This page has a different tone and feel compared to others I visit. Its almost like some are looking for a reason to argue about something. It can go on for pages with no reference to the original posters question. This post probably puts a target on my back, so to be upfront I know my grammar and spelling are not perfect. But then again its a fuck page not a college paper.
