and invest in either a "hobby phone" or have some kind of working phone for your provider to be able to contact you.
Most gents know this that have been around for awhile and even many newbies.
I have been experiencing gents who will provide a phone# during screening but does not want me to contact them via phone or text on appt day to provide location details.
Anything can go wrong with emails...maybe you or I don't get email or it goes into spam. Or if for some reason there is a delay on either end call/text is much easier way to communicate on appt day.

Recently had a gent get upset that I text him an hour prior to our appt to provide location details.
He never specified that text was a no-no and never responded back to my text. He emailed instead.
Explained that his SO has access to his text msgs and wanted room# and hotel info via email.
I declined to see this person I have no idea of this is the person I screened is the person behind the email since he would not respond to text and would not call.
His reasoning there is no reason to have a secondary phone...ummm yes there is. lol

It's about being STUPID or ARROGANT. .

If they can afford to pay anywhere between $300-$1000+ per hour, they can afford another phone line.  In fact, let me tell you this. You don't have to spend a dime. Just get Google Voice. I have been using it for last 10+ yrs, and it has always served me well.  The only thing you have to understand with GV is that it's Internet based, so you have to turn on your data or have a reliable WiFI connection.  As long as you are able to access the internet, you will be fine with GV.

You bring up excellent points regarding delays and spam folders. I will tell you this.. Some of these guys are so stupid that they will use their work email.  A while back, some local DC woman accidentally put the entire mailing list in CC (was probably an honest mistake), and I had a lot of fun going through 100s of email addresses with .org, .edu, .gov extensions..

I'm so glad that I have never had the problem of not openly using my phone and email.  For me no embarrassment or problems with that type of situation.  On occasion  my wife would ask me to grab a call for her as she was in the shower or something.  Many guys would just freak out when I answered.  Some tho, would maintain their cool and I would take a message for her or confirm an appointment time as if I was her secretary.

but it doesn't make a bit of sense to not have a working phone.
App number or GV/second bat phone whatever for contact on appt day shouldn't be an issue.
I've had gents mail me from a work email for screening.
All appt details and any correspondence is done from their "non work" email.
Had a gent get huffy because I asked him for his non-work email. Told me no other provider has requested this and he is going to decline our appt due to it.
It's like dude it takes 1min to create a new email account with protonmail, gmail, yahoo, etc.

Textnow app.  Free phone number to text or talk.  Any area code you want.  Don't need to buy a new phone.

Dies TextNow share Contacts info with your regular Contacts app/feature on your phone?  If so, if it is even possible, that's a major danger point for this use case.
.
Only if it has its own Contacts (and Calendar) that are not mixable with the native info can it be safe.

the messages do not go through.
I have a provider friend who uses it frequently as her secondary phone and her and clients are not receiving each other messages.
Recently while on tour I was waiting on a gent to arrive to my location never got his text saying he had arrived.
Never even got his messages when he got there a bit earlier.
This was multiple messages I never received but he received mine.
He has some text app while I have a second phone.
So just make sure those apps are actually sending your messages and you're receiving all of your messages.
To avoid a big headache later or misunderstanding.
