I took a phenomenal mongering trip to Costa Rica last year. My original motivation was my desire to bang Latinas at the source and at more reasonable rates, but my experience was rewarding in other ways that I had not expected. I accordingly recommend that every hobbyist take a mongering trip there at least once. It enables you to experience the trade in a purer form without many of the hassles that one often experiences in the U.S., although it does have its own hassles as well.
IMHO, Latin America produces the world's finest women, and you can find a broad range of them in Costa Rica. Costa Rica itself produces many very fine women, and there are also many chicas there from Colombia, Nicaragua, Panama, and the Dominican Republic. I experienced a broad range of women, from fair-skinned blonde Colombians and Costa Ricans to black Dominicans and Nicaraguans.
Rates are much more reasonable in Costa Rica. The going rates at the Hotel Del Rey in San Jose, which attracts the most independents in that city, are $60-100, with all-nighters for $200. You can have sessions at quality brothels (which present themselves as massage parlors or bars) starting at $40-60. When you factor in travel costs, you might not save tons of money, but the lower cost of any one session enables you to be more adventurous and indulge yourself more. Some of my best sessions came out of opportunities that I never would have pursued in the U.S. You can afford to bang your brains out for a week or two at a level that would be prohibitively expensive in the U.S. I crammed more than a month and a half worth of sex into less than a week. For example, I had a two-girl all-nighter for what a 1 hour incall with a well-reviewed provider back home would cost. A two-girl all-nighter in the U.S. would be prohibitively expensive back home, but it was affordable enough in Costa Rica that I just did it on a whim, and I am glad that I seized the opportunity to check that item off of my bucket list.
The business model in Costa Rica is better for the client. Independents generally receive payment at the end of the session, which motivates them to provide better service. Their services and rates are negotiable, as the trade's legality permits open discussion beforehand. However, many independents will upsell or renege on what they agreed to do once they are behind closed doors. Independents often offer discounted sweetheart deals to repeat clients on their own initiative. Brothels require payment up front and have less room for negotiation (beyond a $20 tip that most chicas will want for BBBJ), but they have greater quality control and pose a lower risk of shenanigans than independents. NB: BBBJ is less common among independents than it is in the U.S. but is generally available in brothels.
The scene at places like the Del Rey and the Sportsmens Lodge is like that of a M&G, in the sense that you meet the independents in person and get a better feel for their personalities and appearances than you can from a U.S.-based provider's reviews and photos. With that said, some independents' personalities will change the minute that they are behind closed doors, and some of them are very adept at concealing physical shortcomings that only become apparent once they get naked. Another advantage for both the independent chica and the monger is that she can often get a better sense of how comfortable she is with a potential client beforehand than a U.S.-based provider can from phone and Internet screening and reference checks, potentially resulting in better experiences for both parties.
You can monger easily enough in Costa Rica if you only speak English, as many of the independents and the chicas in gringo-oriented brothels speak English. Speaking even a little bit of Spanish will nonetheless greatly enhance your experience. I had the best sessions with independents who spoke little or no English and the worst sessions with independents who spoke excellent English – I suspect that some of the latter have honed or taken advantage of their superior English to prey on gringos.
