JK. No, I agree. I don't think that works anymore. Well, new replies only jump to the top in flat, I think. So it could work for those in tree. Maybe? Help me out here PS, lol. In any case it's not a perfect system. Old habits die hard I guess.
The system SUCKS BALLS!!! and what you are talking about is just one of things fucked up about this new version. and no, new replies just a thread to the top in both tree and flat modes, making it even more difficult to find the never-ending threads the new format has created.
Lexi makes an excellent point and I was going to make a very similar post on the Media board where the 1st quarter Ms TER thread is now above the 2nd quarter thread, a thread that incidentally has ZERO replies to it, ensuring that there are no "eligible" candidates for Ms TER 2nd Quarter this year, Nice going TER, you really fucked this one up.
Sucks rancid donkey balls. And that the Ms. TER seems to be a Mongolian Cluster Fuck right now. We're on the same page.
But I think you're mistaken that a new reply pushes a thread to the top in both tree and flat. I may have been wrong about which it is, tree or flat, but it ain't both. All I know is I was just toggling between the two and the threads are in a totally different order. You'd think they could pin their own quarterly video threads so they remain in order, most recent on top. SMH.
I am willing to bet that for a least a brief period, my reply to you will put keep this thread at the top of the page, that is until someone responds to a different thread and then that thread will be at the top of the page. What a dumb fucking system.
I am waiting for some asshole prick to simply make a reply to 25 ancient threads and push every current conversation off the first page. (yes, I thought about doing it myself, but I figured I'd get a time out from posting if I did. lol)
Right now, this thread is on top in both because it was the most recently started and the most recently replied to. Look at the top five threads in tree and switch to flat. It won't be the same five threads.
I suppose since every topic under the sun has already been discussed here ad nauseam, maybe all that's left to do is recycle old threads over and over again?
Maybe you shouldn't go there, I'll leave that up to you.
I'm not so sure that every possible topic has been beaten to death repeatedly here. Don't know about you, but yesterday's asshole full of eyeballs was a first for me. Maybe if we load up the first page with threads about fake news and then keep bumping them up we won't get in trouble? Sounds like a lot of work though. LoL.
are in chronological order based on the time stamp when in tree mode FROM first entry to the board. The further down the list you go the newer the post.
Now, if you click in the middle of a thread, then the order gets all f*cked up. Yes GaG I agree, this new version is not as good as the previous edition.
A post that goes up at 11:59 PM becomes a "Yesterday" post after the passage of one minute. A post that goes up at 12:01 AM remains "x minutes ago" and "y hours ago" until 24 hours later when it becomes a "yesterday" post. I can NOT constantly re-read entire threads and I am constantly missing posts because of that annoying, inconsistent policy. . In the OLD system, it was MUCH easier to read all relevant and new posts in sequence by "control-click" each post into a new tab and read them in sequence. . They could switch to displaying all times as the old date and time (mm-dd-yyyy hh:mm) format but they said that they will not. They said that by "hovering" over a post, the mm-dd-yyyy info is supposed to be visible but (1) IT ISN'T!!! and (2) why would I want to jiggle the cursor for 10 seconds trying to see the posting time when I am already complaining about the added time the new format wastes????? . I know that I repeat myself, but the new system is NOT better than the old system. THEY SHOULD JUST SWITCH TO A POPULAR, FULL FEATURED, WELL MAINTAINED, OPEN SOURCE forum software instead of trying to cobble together bits and pieces and features and always get it wrong anyway. . What is this thread about, anyway? I clicked on the most recent post (keystonekid's) and I am not going to read everything from the top.

this keeps the posts in order by time of original post. I only visit sporatically so this works best for me. If I want to follow a post from a few days ago, I can always scroll down.
Or at least not with the mods that is. It did help that I was the moderator of this board at the time I suppose. lol
and yes, yesterdays "asshole full of eyeballs" was the first time that particular piece of fake news was discussed here, but it was hardly the first time a piece of fake news was linked here for discussion as if it were real. So that post really didn't break any new ground either, it just reinforced the fact that the OP in that thread is an idiot.
