Why would your trust anyone you, do not know personally with your safety? If your not willing to be screen, then your chances of meeting someone could be slim.
Been out of the hobby since before covid and I haven't been traveling for business like I used to. Trying to see new providers but all my references are stale and I refuse to give personal information. So I guess that means I'm out!

Those references are very valuable. If I had let my membership lapse I'd probably be in the same situation that you are now. It sucks to have to start all over, especially when you've been in the hobby for awhile but all your references are now gone or out of date. Did you have any regulars still in the biz that would remember you? That might be a good start.

Stick to your guns and eventually you will find well reviewed providers who need that rent money. AMPs will tide you over till then.

Not a silly question. My references are not local and not anywhere I travel to on business anymore. If I do go back your can bet I'll call on them again!

Funny I was in the same situation. It had almost been 5 years for me too. Early as a Nubie I freely gave personal information out and like you decided to stop doing that after hearing some of the horror stories. I reached out to a lady I had seen before, hoping that beause I had seen her that would be enough. Well it wasn't and she asked for employment info. I tried to explain I wasn't comfortable with that anymore and she was not happy. She ended up deleting my OK from 5 years ago on P411. Even though they were old i still had other OKs so i just used P411and have since met some other really nice ladies. Just be patient cuz they're out there.
It also lends to your credibility as a legitimate hobbyist with a verifiable history with mainstream providers.

Some of the providers you’ve seen in recent years travel. If they’re not coming to your town anytime soon, offer one of them a FMTY deal. Then you’ll be a repeat client (and recent client), and they should be willing to be a reference for you (assuming you behave yourself). One FMTY might be enough, as there’s many providers who require only one recent reference. Next, see one or two of those. Now you have 2-3 references. Build on that.

I had a regular before Covid… between Covid, her price, and her age, her business completely dried up. No calls for days. She had no choice but to retire, even though she was (still) a very pretty and sexy lady. I transitioned from being a client to being a friend to being her best friend and only lover (with some modest financial support). Just the other day I was trying to set up an appointment with a touring provider via p411. I have over 20 okays on P411. She wanted references. Okay fine. I gave her my go-to reference and was suggesting she contact the most recent provider on the okay list, 10 months ago.

So 10 months was too much for those. But the real kicker was that my go-to reference was also rejected because the provider hadn't signed into p411 for 10 days! First she didn't say references even had to have p411 accounts (many providers don't.) Second 10 days isn't exactly an infinity of time to be off p411.

So of course the lady has the right to screen however she wishes, but I could see her requirements were inconsistent and unpredictable and I assumed so would be the rest of the interaction so I just cancelled.

Good news is p411 is a workaround.
I redacted everything on it except my photo. When I asked her about it at the meeting, and told her I was surprised she accepted my redacted info, she said it was okay, because she only wants to see that I live in another state, because means I am NOT Nevada LE. The fact that I lived in CA was enough even though I blacked out my address, birthdate, DL number and personal information.
I (and many others) don’t require references; just a screening form 😊
As far as I am concerned......No Provider should be asking for references (Only because each experience is soooo different then the experience that other Providers have. At least 50%.). All Providers & Hobbyist should go on their own instincts/Experience. Just because one Provider/Hobbyist puts in their thoughts about the other person (Doesn't mean that you need to jump to a conclusions). Usage the information that is given to you as a guideline as to what may or may not happen and let the other person that you are dealing with know what you will & will not deal with. And also, Hobbyists should not get offended if the Providers up their prices and ask questions or state their "RULES". It's all in the best interests of the Hobbyists & Providers. I have been doing this for nearly 30 years (Yes, I am that old. I have been doing it for no more than 22.5 years). Police use sites like this just to stop Escorts/Providers from doing just what we have been doing for many years.
