One more post in favor of "taking one for the team"!

Taking one for the team may cost you $$$ if the girl is a rip off (But you can then warn everyone else)...but you may find a REAL GEM too! How many lumps of coal pile up before that perfect 4 carat diamond is finally found? If you find that gem PLEASE DONT BE STINGY and keep her all to yourself! :0) share and share alike!

Getting that first review is tough...especially if you are in a town where you primarily deal with "locals". I'm from Nevada where the girls deal almost exclusively with tourists. Tourist are in town for a few days...they have nothing to lose by writing a review for a girl.

I mostly dealt with locals...so my reviews were limited because locals say they want to remain anonymous (because they live in the same town and dont want their wife, boss, etc. to find out)...and many of them choose not to give girls reviews.

I think they are also afraid that if the girl gets too popular, she may raise her rates and/or not be available as often as the gentleman would like and/or are used to. I had MANY local clients who just FLAT OUT REFUSED to give me reviews...even though some of them had been visiting me on a regular basis (2 to 3 times per month). Many gentlemen had been visiting me for as long as a year! Still...NO REVIEWS.

I also think that "ethnic" girls dont get that many reviews either (black, latina, asian)...Not too many gentleman who see the TOP Caucasian providers want to admit they have "Jungle Fever" and they tasted the forbidden fruit. I had one gentleman tell me he chose me (I'm black) over one of the TOP caucasian providers because he "could find a flat ass white girl anywhere". But still...NO REVIEW.

I had "THE" hardest time convincing gentleman that I was "reliable", "not a rip off" and a "true gfe" - even though I have a handful of reviews. From what I "heard" there is quite a bit of "back channeling" in my area, and my name comes up. Apparently I am highly thought of...though you would never know it from looking at the review board.

Like I said before "Taking one for the team may cost you $$$ if the girl is a rip off (But you can then warn everyone else)...but you may find a REAL GEM too! How many lumps of coal pile up before that perfect 4 carat diamond is finally found? If you find that gem PLEASE DONT BE STINGY and keep her all to yourself! :0) share and share alike!"

Hobbyist's: We hear so many "rip off" stories...are there any "REAL GEM" stories? A story where you thought it would not be a good session, but it turned out to be great?

my .02 cents

sable

ps. Girls needing reviews and gentelmen being so reluctant to "take one for the team" is such a frustrating "problem". I dont want you gentleman to get ripped off...but what did you do BEFORE the internet and reviews? You took your chances and hoped for the best.

my worst time in 3 years would still rate a 6 (mostly 8's & 9's). Would "take one for the team", but with so many highly touted providers not yet seen, taking the chance seems silly. I will say, however, my ATF (now retired) was found before TER and was never reviewed. Will rethink throwing in a nonreviewed provider every once in a while.

Some weeks ago I decided I needed to upgrade my rotation by adding some new girls, and trying to improve the overall quality. It has worked out great.

In the past five weeks I have seen eight new (for me) girls, four of whom had no reviews, and the other four had only one or two reviews. Besides seeing some of my regulars in that time, I have already repeated with three of the new girls. I will see all but one of them again. None of them was a waste of time, or worse.

One of the unreviewed girls is an absolute gem. I walked out with a soaring crush on her. I'm going back Tuesday.

I prefer not to write reviews, but I will if a girl requests it. I saw a new, unreviewed girl this morning, and she requested that I not write a review. I have written reviews on two of my new finds, because they said they would welcome that. Of course, I would write a review if I got ripped off, or I thought I should warn my fellow hobbyists that she wasn't worth seeing, or didn't live up to a review, and I wrote one of those.

So, SweetSable, I am living your suggestion, and it has worked out super for me. I already know who my next new girl is, and we are trying to schedule something. After that, I think I will end this adventure and enjoy my new finds, and earlier finds too. That will keep me plenty busy, and keep a big smile on my face.

Believe it or not, there are a lot of lady's who do not want the attention a review would generate especially if LE monitors review boards in their area. I generally will not write a review about a lady unless she asks or I get ripped off. To me its more about being discrete because I may not know what kind of negative heat may be generated for the lady if I write one without her knowledge. Now if she does ask me to write a review, when possible, I run it past her first to make sure that she is cool with what I'm going to post prior to posting it. To me that's a respect thing so she doesn't get blind sided. As you know a TER review is generally more graphic than one you will see on TBD or other places.

It’s the ultimate double edge sword. Some guys will not write a review for the simple fact that if a lady's business does pick up, the chances of her availability will decrease and ultimately her prices will increase. Show me one provider whose rep got big and didn't raise her rates through the roof.

Case in point was one of the better lady's in my area started out at $$. When she started getting two and three reviews a week, her rates doubled, tripled until now she has a 4 hour min for 2K! And yes she does still get clients because in this business a guy will figure the great reviews coupled with the high rate (perception is reality?) means that he will get a superior session. None of the reviews mention that she has a BIG substance abuse problem but I digress. If a lady raises her rates that high, because IT IS good business for you to do so, is well and good but the guys who did the advertising for you are left in the cold because now they can't afford your new found fame and rate.

Please don't go into, "keeping old rates for established clients" for if you do that, then the escort is a fool at best and bad business person at worst. It makes no sense to not fully capitalize on your new found fame and maximizing your profits. If you had a shot at seeing the old client for one hour or a new client who wants the same time slot but at the new rate, whom are you going to see? Trust me I know the answer but I'm not mad at that situation. Its business. There is limited loyalty in all forms of business.

You also hit on another aspect that may be relevant to you being a lady of color. The majority of clients in this business are white. I don't think anyone would debate that fact. Yet there are some who have no problem of lusting and wanting to be with a woman of color yet have a real problem admitting to such a fact. The reality is that anyone reading the review could care less about the client. Trust me, the guys are reading the review to find out about the lady. I've yet to read  review that said "I'm a white guy and yes I did it with a black woman......." I can tell right off the bat that the guy is white though when he writes, "I've always had a thing about Black, Asian, Latina women". Generally that tells me he is not of the same ethnic background and you know what, I could care less.  If the lady made you feel good is all that any other read cares about. Yet you will find some white clients who for some reason will not admit to being with an ethnic lady let alone write a review.

Another thing you probably don’t realize is that some guys are gun shy about writing a review because its a paper trail of their activity. I will go on a limb and say the majority of the clients are married or least with a significant other. I'm not even going to try to tackle all the reasons why a married guy indulges, but the fact is, reviews are a way to link a guy to his infidelities. It does not matter if he is a tourist or a local. If the guy’s wife got a hold of his posting handle and did a search, she may find more than she would ever want to know. The majority of these review boards never delete reviews. You can go back a number of years and find post that a person may have written. I think guys would be more willing to post reviews if they had the ability to delete the post entirely. Like on this board you can delete the contents of a message board post but the header with your alias will stay out there.

A lady who had asked me to write a review on her got into some legal problems and asked me to remove the review about a year later. I wrote to TER and they removed all her reviews from the search engine but if you do a search of reviews I've written, her's will come up so technically she can still get in trouble. The bottom line is this information will follow you and the client forever or as long as the site runs. Some guys may not be comfortable with that audit trail that could come back to haunt him one day. Again it goes for the lady's as well. I know another lady who retired from the business about two years ago and bragged to me about how she got out clean to move on to her other career. I sent her into near panic when I found and sent her about three pages worth of reviews, internet ads (with her picture), etc that were still floating around the net. Information she did not want anyone to know about. She went about trying to get that stuff removed but I found that in about 30 minutes worth of time. There is no telling what else I could find if I really wanted to.

This issue is a little more complicated than "why wont they write a review" especially when considering the total implication of such actions.
