Those nasty, hateful and ignorant comments from the Deliverance crowd are far too likely to reflect many of the reactions she'll face on job interviews. This country remains fucked up about sex. Any day now a male state legislator from Mississippi or some equally backwards nowhere is going to propose bringing back chastity belts. And then he'll head home to ass fuck his 14 year old cousin.  It's the same shit we've seen with gays in the military.  I don't give a fuck who the guy in my foxhole Is screwing on leave as long as he can shoot and fight when the time comes. Some day this young woman may be qualified to do eye surgery, prepare complex financial analyses or write brilliant children's books. But all some uptight miscreant from another era will see is that she had the temerity to challenge his control of her sexuality by giving a BJ on film. Sometimes this country is like a teenager--big new powers but not the perspective or wisdom to knowwhat to do with them.

I just spent a whole minute trying to find who she is in the porn world without any results. Maybe someone can continue my research and post their findings.

A guy has sex with 100 women.. He is a Stud.
A girl  has sex with 100 men.....She is a Whore.
It's bullshit...    This is a fuck board, and here..
We all know most of the people around us IRL cannot handle sexual freedom.

People are morons... Especially in College..
Then they get worse when they get out, and live in the real world.
I deal with these types every day...
Fresh out of College with all the answers..
I love to watch them fail.. It's very satisfying to me..

Anyway. Great post..
Be good :

Just saying...
It really is a bad alias..
Did you watch the movie Don?
You know he cried when he actually had good sex with a woman right

I said before: if that's all you have, bashing my alias choice, it's kinda funny that you misspelled Hound of Cullin(sic).
I also said that Don banged more girls in 90 min of film than you have in all your hobbying time. Lmao.

I actually saw this story before.

It absolutely is her right to choose porn of course. In this case, I think there is some marketing going on on her part. Why do I say this? She supposedly swore a frat guy to secrecy about it. C'mon, who would trust a freshman frat dude with discretion? Then, immediately she is all over the school paper, then it reached NY magazine. This is different than when a famous actor's daughter was caught by TMZ doing porn. THEY definitely wanted that to remain a secret. I'm sure we'll hear about her movie and book deal soon.

From the linked interview, the writer says, "In shuffling past her on the plaza or sitting next to her on a bus, one would never suspect that Lauren was, in fact, involved in the adult film industry."

When I'M walking down the street, standing in line at the store, riding an elevator or subway I assume that EVERY pretty young lady is either in the adult film industry or other sex worker

and her vehemence to get others to change their views for her. My favorite part...

"What about getting a job after college... who will hire you?" A fair and valid question being she is fkin for the money to go to a school like Duke in the hopes of getting a job, and she responds "I would not want to work for anyone who did not value sex workers." A bit naive.

You will work for whomever is paying a good salary, or your education is pretty much wasted, and porn WILL be your life. If she TRULY loved porn, why is she in school to do something ELSE? Oh, the fkin irony. On one hand you have her beating this equal rights and "I am not ashamed" thing to death, and on the other hand you have her going to school to get OUT of the porn industry lol.

She's actually lucky the University did not toss her out on her ass, but porn is legal. A few others would not have cared, and she could have been denied entrance into certain programs... Nursing especially. I know women who were denied because they were strippers! They might have to let you in school, but they do NOT have to select you for certain programs, and they don't have to tell you why either. It's about character flaws in many cases

It's because they let her in so they were stuck legally. You can bet she won't be getting into Duke Law.

--Overbearing? I think her tone isn't overbearing at all, it's not arrogant, it's pleading in a idealistic way. Naive perhaps but geez that's kind of what a school like Duke ends up eliciting - follow your dreams, make a difference. Corny but that's what it's all about.

--"You will work for whomever is paying a good salary, or your education is pretty much wasted, and porn WILL be your life.
I refuse to believe that. You have 40-50 years of working, to want to strive for one day be at a place that you value is fair. I can't possibly be the only one who refuses to stay at a job simply for money.

--If she TRULY loved porn, why is she in school to do something ELSE? Oh, the fkin irony."
How is it irony? She loves porn, yet she doesn't want it to be her entire life. So she's in school to pursue something else, that's quite simple and not ironic. She found out she liked it and is using it as a vehicle. It's lucrative, you can love doing more than one thing in your life.

Your last paragraph makes it seem like if she had gotten kicked out it would totally be deserved. If strippers are being kicked out of programs or not accepted into programs then that's something to be angry about, doing sex work is not a character flaw

that you actually believe everything she says lol. She loves porn? Really? How do you know that... because she said so? Ok. To say the very school you are paying out the ass for should not judge you for how you pay, is kind of funny, being you are using that school to get OUT of the porn industry. You don't have to agree though lol.

You can sit here and beat your chest all day long about this not being a character flaw, but don't expect others in the real world to agree with you. If a reputable university does not want strippers, porn stars and hookers in their law and med programs, they do not have to accept them. Common sense would be to do this and STFU about it. I know several women who did just that, and are now in their prospective careers without ever having to stand on the soap box about their damn 'proud moments of hookerdom.'  It's called common sense and maturity not to go around broadcasting something you did that was illegal! You do realize WOMEN are usually the ones in HR doing the hiring, and how are they going to feel knowng you might have fked their husband? You are right though... you can work for who you want IF you have the skills and the financial stability to tell them to go fk themselves and easily go somewhere else. 'Naive' is actually believing most people  will or can do that.

You do realize a teacher was fired for making a sex tape with her own BOYFRIEND, right? Thank you. Believe and preach all you want, but the fact remains that the world outside of hookerland is not always going to buy into that commentary. They consider it acts of carelessness and indiscretion, and both of those things ARE character flaws employers generally consider. If no one wants to hire you, guess what... you are fkin stuck.

To sit here and act like every person in the world can just up and open their own business when things don't pan out, is absurd. Um, might want to look around. We have more people claiming to have greaet jobs, than actually having them.  Everyone for one reason or another has to kiss a little ass to get or keep a job, regardless of how good you are at what you do. I know CEOs who still have to bend honey, so don't sit here and tell me some porn star or hooker has more standing than that. You are really living in a dream world, but you seem happy lol.

So is that an admission that you had to "kiss a little ass"" or whatever to get or keep your new job? Seems the Duke student and you have some interesting parallels.

Respectfully of course,

I had to 'bend' a bit with my outspoken antics, and not always be right for once, if that's what you mean? I also could not shout from the rooftops "I was a hooker, hear me roar" and then get all pissed that normal people gave me the side eye, and probably pissed themselves. Mature people do not go around broadcasting their ILLEGAL activities, and they also recognize what should be said in certain circles. Most people in the corporate world, find this business disgusting, some find it immoral. Whether we believe that or not, is not really the issue... THEY believe it, and if you want a job working for x company, you conform to what they want from an employee, or you pack your shit and go somewhere else. Yah, real mature. "I am not going to be you VP of Marketing because you won't let me tell everyone I was a hooker."

LMAO... see how stupid that sounds? Some are all talk, and when push comes to shove, they don't talk half the shit they do on here when it comes to losing an income. Then again, I am really not so convinced many have the jobs they claim unless they work online like I do. The posting count does not equate to full time employment in the real world.

People really need to pick their battles. Only an idiot would bother spending 4 plus years in school, paying for it, and busting their ass to get through all that just to toss it for semantic's sake. But, you can't fix stupid. This is not a gender or race issue, in which case I too would take the "fk you, if you don't like me" route. Porn is not illegal, but to many, it's immoral and those naive enough to think screaming about it is going to make an employer respect them, are NUTS. So, I guess time will tell and we will see just where Miss tell all Duke, ends up. My guess... a blogger in NYC or someone who owns a boutique that sells sex toys... neither of which requires one to go to college lol.

Employer know your previous occupation? If not, what would their reaction be if discovered?

You should know this... people in higher up positions have to use due dilligence when researching potential hires, and if they find something or think they could find something that would make their company look bad for hiring you, you're not getting the job. This is why I find it very hard to believe certain people really do work in corporate america, because they seem to have no clue about what employers want and look for. So, although you might whisper to your immediate boss that you did x at one time knowing he is no angel either, it would be a complete fk up to tell the entire company thus making the person who hired you look like an idiot.

But, that's just the jobs I have applied for and fields I have worked in. I don't think people really care so much in a few other industries, so I am not saying this is an absolute across the board, but to act like it does not matter with the majority of employers, is absurd. People have been fired or refused employment for much less than an ILLEGAL act.

Do I think a former porn star or provider deserves to be denied employment or fired? Nope, but I do think one too stupid to keep her mouth shut, should be. That's the difference. Do you go around broadcasting the 100 lbs of drugs you did? No. Do you tell everyone at your office party that you had 4 abortions before age 25? No. Same principle. Many providers have moved out to successful careers, because they kept their mouths shut about their damn past. Common sense.

Companies that are desirable to work for hire people who can represent them in a professional manner, period.  And with the internet, etc, and social media, ways of doing thorough back ground checks are pretty easy.
