With screennames comming up on google how do I change my screenname?

I googled myself and the first TER Holeydiver post that came up was a reference someone made to me here on TER, not a message I posted myself.  How does thee search engines "grab" on posts here and determine their search order?

You would probably have to cancel your account and start a new one.

My larger question would be does it do you any good? As soon as you start posting with the new handle that one will wind up on google eventually as well.

This is an alias (duh). My handle is one which could potentially trace back to me. i have not posted any comments or reviews for a while because of this.

I just changed mine about two weeks ago.  When I did, it changed the name on all of my previous posts and reviews.  Nothing in my account was lost.  The only thing you can't change is when someone replied to your post with your previous handle in the reply.

Just contact TER through the "contact us" function and explain what you want.  You should have at least three names picked to give them.  Check them out first as alias' to make sure nobody else has them.

When your name is changed, you should immediately take your old handle as an alias so it can't be used by someone else (even as a joke). For some reason, the google search still pulls up my old username as attached to some old posts, but I don't know what to do with that.

Just a quickie...

When the spiders crawl the site they 'see' the number of post a name may have, how many times that name is mentioned in text of post and go from there.. The more post you have and the more times it is mentioned in the text of a message and the more times it is seem :at other places: the higher up the search ladder you go.. It is known as relevance..

This is part of SEO or Search Engine Optimization

Now TER 'could' have a robot.txt file on site to forbid certain actions by those spider bots. They could exclude certain areas of the site for 'no index' They could also do it on a page by page bases..

That could knock out the discussion boards being indexed to the search bots to the search servers..

Indexing the discussion boards seems to be irrelevant to me as TER is top when you search escort review sites.. The discussion board mostly only shows up when you search by user nickname as you have found out.. IT was not always like that..

I keep track of were I come up in ranking and TER has pushed most of my own stuff off the front page with their discussion board indexing..
Talk about using someone for your own monetary gain..
Even though it knocks my stuff down in ranking it also has a plus on the provider side.. It brings people to your reviews and then back to your stuff in a round about way..

TER is my biggest referrer at both my sites with well over 6000 referrals this year between both sites.
