If you go and look at how the date is setup during submission of review, a user is allowed to set a future date. So I'd assume most people chose December but did not bother to change the current year. Currently it's possible to set the date as June 2021,for example.
Normally, this is handled by sanitizing datetime input to not exceed current date. Just my guess.
Not sure what is causing this but am guessing that reviewers are getting a year auto populated with 2021 but reviewing sessions from last December. I've noticed a number of reviews with December 2021 as the date of the session.
Maybe do the admins (and other TER members) a favor and look for that if you submit a review over the next few days. Hopefully they will fix things by then.

list for month and year. Its set to default to the current month/year, i.e., January 2021. If you want to review a session from December, you have to change the Month AND the year. Guys get in the habit during the year of just changing the month and leaving the year default in place, but this time of the year, you have to change both if you ware going to post a review from last year.
Exactly. I would argue TER might need to make it "idiot-proof" as to disallow future dates to be able to be chosen, but I fully agree with your reasoning as to why it's happening.
