Firstly, I fully support any provider working only within their comfort zone and don't question that atall.  Secondly, my comfort zone doesn't include releasing personal info like real name or office info the great unknown. And so, a large number of providers with whom I would love to spend time  are simply not available to likes of me.

But don't despair because despite this, I have had a long string of outstanding experiences  and life is good.

My motto is To thine own self be true and let others be.  Remember, the world is full of wonderful people and some great providing companions are in the group!!

Don't despair and don't try to fool anyone and you will do great,

Peace

I admit that I am new to this game, but can someone explain to me why anyone would submit a screening form that gives out personal information to someone whom you have never met or even spoken to?

There are several providers I would like to see and it seems clear that without disclosing not only my real name and address, but I must give details on my employment?

Who is crazy enough to do this and has anyone here been burned by doing so?

Just Curious...

that'll likely limit the number of ladies that will be willing to see you.

I happen to agree with you, but at the same time nobody here is going to tell a lady what she should do to make herself safe....it's appropriately their prerogative.

One possible way around it is to join Date-check or another service, but it probably still won't be an automatic screening for you.

Yes. I have been burned - BADLY. I dont want to provide any details of how I was burned because I have learned to be real careful. I dont give anyone my real name and employment info. I'm sure I would do it if the provider gave me the same info. lol

I have had quite a few providers turn me down - in LA - because I wouldn't provide the info. Business must be great for them despite the great recession.
In my experience the whole  procedure for verification is out of hand. The providers I see regularly are really unhappy to make it possible for me to go to competitors. I always ask first and I can see their negative reaction, which I understand. I am going to join P411 which I believe is generally accepted here - southern LA.

Date-Check, Preferred-411 and (my fav) Roomservice2000 are professional verification services from which most providers will accept references.  While I understand your reluctance to give out your personal info, it is just as crazy for a woman to meet a guy when she has no idea who he is!  You could be LE, or a psycho intent on bodily harm...by getting professionally verified ONCE, you are making it easy on everyone!
But I think you are looking for the gents input, soo...guys?

I'm surprised by the number of ladies who want info in addition to one of those services. I thought that was the point of them.

Providers are willing to get naked behind locked doors with men they've never met. That can be a pretty vulnerable position. They have reason to get some information that should make you identifiable, should anything go wrong.

That basically applies until you have references from other ladies to show you are respectful and play safely by the rules. The more hobby credibility you have, the less you typically need to divulge.

As a newbie, you should be prepared to give the information out at the beginning. It would also be a good idea to head over to the Newbie board (FAQ for Newbies) linked to on the left. There is lots of info over there to read.

Good luck!

They do this for their own safety. LE, crazy people etc. If you have referrals from other providers you have seen or are part of one of the verification services out there it may be easier. Suppose if you were in their shoes you wouldn't do something similar??

You are correct.  They have to be safe. If the provider is well reviewed, then a rigorous screening program is often a good thing for me.  It allows me to feel comfortable that I am seeing a true professional.   When the screening is weak, you could be seeing someone who is problematic.

2 verifiable references, I offer a alternate screening in lieu of references, and that's when I ask for a contact # at work... I have never ever seen girls ask for your address?

I agree, one of the screening sites might be your best bet :)

To spend time with me I have to know exactly who you are.  I don't have 'forms'  I think those are really impersonal and odd..

I don't need to call your mom or your boss ...
I don't need you to fill out a form since each person is an individual and will show me any number of things unique to their circumstance.

With all the info available on and about me.. I hope my potential clients also reach a point of confidence.

Why would anyone fill out a form?  I have no idea.  I wouldn't unless it was solely to convey my phone number so the escort could call me.

Why a person would let me know who they are? Because they are intelligent and world saavy enuff to see how little risk is involved with us meeting each other on a respectful and intimate level.

Dealing with people as individuals is the part of the zigsaw puzzle you are missing.

...that doesn't mean you need to be if it makes you uncomfortable. It's as easy as finding someone else who screens in a way you're more comfortable with. Preferred411.com and Date-Check.com are also good places to look.

For what it's worth, I haven't yet burned anyone by knowing his real name or who signs his paychecks. Made them a little shaky in the knees, maybe, but nothing permanent. ;) However, I wouldn't recommend anyone, regardless of how they're comfortable being screened, give personal information to someone they don't consider reputable/trustworthy.

on my blog. not the erotic stories one...the other one that makes no sense.

to cut to the quick, screening varies by everyone. some screen according to the gentleman's comfort level...just the basic info so they know you wont come thru the door and try anything stupid. (like, force yourself or not leave a filled envelope)

i personally dont like to have too much info on anyone. why? because i believe in covering my behind. if anyone asks me who you are, i can honestly say I have no clue. Any info i do have...puhlease! i do not keep it. I value my hide entirely too much to have anything tied back to me. Sorry, that is just how i am.

i rely heavily on the "reference" system. If you have seen someone else who can vouch for you,(and i can verify she is who she says she is) then thats all the info i need. speaking of which and thanks for reminding me, i need to change my form on my site.

there is a level of trust and a leap of faith involved...but it is worth it if you find the "one" you click with.

find your comfort level. if she has an email address posted somewhere, shoot her an email and ask her about it. She may be willing to work with you on your screening issues. She may not. You dont know until you ask.

just sayin.

now, back to dealing with the humidity that is slowly killing me. i am about to pop open a hydrant in Times Square and have a party. Screw this heat!

That all escorts dream of collecting as much personal info as they can.

We really don't. Two recent references from well reputed provider will do the trick in 99.9 percent of situations.

Unfortunately for newbies they are given only 3 options. Remain newbies. See unsafe ladies who don't screen. Or part with that precious anonymity.

So what u have to ask yourself ... Do u feel lucky today?  Then see someone who says "sure just call me when u are on the corner"

Will not ever fill out a form. I call them and if they insist on filling out forms I politely excuse myself. There many many good looking ladies around.

There's nothing in the world without risk.  For the bulk of guys wanting to get into this business screening is going to be required.  After you're in the Club the screening is less difficult and less intrusive with most providers, but that first step is going to be intrusive to some degree.

That's the reason your first 2 or 3 dates should be with highy reputable women, well reviewed by reputable guys.  That doesn't drive the risk to zero but it's about as good as you can do.

Probably the two things a provider can do to ruin her rep the fastest is rip-off a client or not be discrete about their info, so the good ones have a vested interest in keeping your info safe.

Filled out the whole form. They require a lot more information than any provider I've seen. Never met the person who will process the information, never spoke to them.

I now have several references and I'm on DateCheck which is good for many providers I'd like to see.

However, there is one well reviewed DateCheck listed provider whose web site and pictures (and several pages of reviews!) attracted my attention from the time I started doing this around 1.5 years ago. She still insists on personal info.

(Would it be OK to post who it is and ask if everyone gets the same treatment?)

having Date-check or P411 does not necessarily mean you are not asked to release any other info. Some providers still require your full name and other info.

Right. That's the point I was trying to make to mopeydick. Every provider is different. Know which info you are prepared to share. Cough it up or move on to someone else.

that you are the only one who has something to lose if something goes wrong but that is not always the case..some providers have professional jobs and others are well-known models and they have as much to lose as you....

If it's a lot then it is pretty scary to think of giving them all your personal info. That's where services like Date-check, and Preferred411 come in handy. If you just want to hole up with a select few, and repeat with them, then giving your info. to a lady with a solid reputation has little risk.

Y.M.M.V111 reads

Yeah give your information to a lady with a solid reputation has litttle risk -- yeah right! We've all seen and heard the reports of a provider who has used her client list for less than honorable actions. A month or so ago there was a provider who outed a client - don't remember the circumstances but can be found on the chicago board. Yet all providers state they don't keep your info. I guess I'd be willing to give out personal info when the provider gives me theirs....I mean it is only for our own safety right?

well regarded providers (generally you will have to share personal info with at least one - so I'd recommend a well established indy in your home area who you have a high degree of confidence you can trust - I used my ATF, a higher end indie whose real name I came to know and she also knows my real name, and I perceived the risk as very low)- then use her to confirm you to a verification service, then see a few more on that service, using the service as verification - then once you've been verified by 5 or more well established providers, further screening is a breeze with 99% of the established providers (doesn't work with unestablished BP or CL, but I avoid those).

98% of providers have no ill intentions. Unfortunately for us clients, we have little in the way of discerning the other 2%. I am personally aware of at least one whacko provider cruising the boards, until she crossed the line.

A significant number of ladies and agencies hang onto information well past it's freshness date. On occasion I get text messages from ladies. So far, all have been discreet and have respected my request to use my hobby email for unsolicited contact, but it doesn't change the fact that they were trolling for business months after our last visit.

Yes, many ladies only keep the minimum info needed to be able to easily re-verify. Many do not, so what happens if the donut patrol latches onto them?

I do not doubt the vocal few ladies on these boards that claim to keep little information past a meeting, but the vocal few here are just that, very few when compared to the masses of providers out there in hobbyland.

I also do not require forms, as each person can be verified in different ways.  We need to feel safe meeting you.  Do your homework on the provider you want to see.  The ones that rip guys off and use their personal info against him get a bad reputation.  Look for reviews that are good and go back in time.  Once I verify you, I have no need to keep your personal info, I destroy it.

I've always wondered, when personal info is destroyed after verifying a client, what do you do 6 months later when the same client schedules with you again?  Chances are you may not remember him.  So do you re-verify him?  Do you keep a first name and description somewhere to jog your memory?  Do you keep phone numbers to match against?  How is this typically done?

I've been hobbying for over a decade and have never, never disclosed that kind of private info.  I've got a selected few who took a chance and now know me. Other than that, I've given up even trying for new girls.

In my opinion, any man who provides that kind of private information, is begging for trouble.

My cell phone is even listed in a ficticious name, so when I call, they can't get private info.

I don't want to sound like a prick, but it should be a two-way street.  However, many of the ladies want it only their way.  That's not for me.

JustMe.121 reads

You're right, it is a two way street. You guys have our website, reviews and other hobbyists to ask to find out about us.

All we have is our screening methods.

It is your prerogative not to submit to any form of screening that makes you uncomfortable, but I take exception to the men who use that lame excuse "are you going to give me your info?"

You have more than enough info on us already.

....I don't care. As long as a potential client has seen another reputable provider and she says he's cool ( although what may be 'cool' to one provider may vary to another, but at least it's a way of weeding out a psycho) with it, whether his real name is Bill or Tom or Jim doesn't matter. Occasionally, a client will give his personal info and work info or whatever. But any more than I'd want him to know my real name ( unless I was really comfortable with him) I don't care to know his. Or his personal information.
