And we all know that good, or average looks do not necessarily mean attraction. After all, some actors that get my hear a-poundin' aren't necessarily good looking but it's that 'something' they possess that I find 'attractive'.
Back in 1996 I had begun dating the CEO of the company I was working for. I couldn't take my eyes off him - it was truly hypnoticly mesmerizing. Yet he was 'ugly'. Now, my thoughts were voiced outloud by two other ladies in the office and they quoted my thoughts exactly: "he is so ugly, he's positively gorgeous - I can't take my eyes off him".
I have never again experienced anything quite like that again. And whenever I've spoken about it, most people go 'huh? How can that be?' To which, I can only say, if you saw him, you'd know.
I watched the last episode of Average Joe, and probably caught another one while I was travelling. I have to confess, seeing that beautiful woman, kissing some of those ugly and uncharsimatic guys made me really sick to look at!
I sometimes feel how complicated the life of a provider could be ...
I don't get this. How did watching that change your appearance? Or were you always really sick to look at but you didn't know it until you watched Average Joe?
As an Average Joe myself (I'm sure all of the ladies will be rushing to return my e-mails or phone calls to schedule an appointment now), I was glad to see that they had "real people" on a reality show for a change.
I only watched a few episodes and was very irritated that she was as shallow as she was.
I think it's great that she picked the good-looking guy. I didn't see the last episode of AJ, but didn't they reveal that the ugly guy was rich? And the good-looking guy was a waiter? It's a catch-22. If she chose the ugly rich guy, she would have been seen as a "gold-digger." Having chosen the handsome poor guy, she's "shallow." Fifty years ago, there would have been no question as to which one she would have chosen -- the rich guy! This marks a trend in the direction of true gender equality -- men and women are BOTH looking for a piece of hot ass!

The "average' guy was not average after all, he was rich. But he had class and depth that the other guy and the gal lacked. She chose at her own level.
My take on it was; she chose the right one for her at that time. What I mean is when they would show Melina w/the good looking guy, they seemed to have a true connection and passion for each other and with the Average rich guy, she was a lot more reserved. Call her shallow but I admire her for following her heart rather than her head.
