I know they have been discussed in great detail, but just a FYI in case anyone is in the market for a new one.  The Samsung trac phone I just got is password protected.  Everything, call log, messages, text, everything requires a 4 digit text so even if it is forgotten and found you can blame it on anyone or anything and none of the calls can be accessed...  Niiiice feature!!!

What I need is a tracfone that I can type txt easier...

I just picked up the LG 500 Tracfone for that exact reason. Much easier to text on this puppy...

which means I don't need to use the tracfone keypads until I'm out of my car near the incall.

I leave my smartphone and just about everything else behind
(except my package, donation, cloths, shoes, a hobby wallet and hobby fone.)

Will probably get that tracfone so I can txt more easily.

for the money. I'm always surprised at how well it handles all of the most commonly used functions, compared to high-end Blackberries and Android phones that I've used outside the hobby. For a fraction of the cost, it kicks ass.

I use the old Iphone 3G since upgrading to the 4s. It is easier to explain it's existence as an "ipod." Just get a new AT&t pay as you go SIM card. Take the sim out when not needed.
option 2 I am thinking of:  an app for the 4s..."Line 2" which costs 10 per month.

That would solve a few problems all at once.  One phone, anonymous hobby line, and an online bill.  The only remaining problem is the iPhone's GPS features, which can pretty much be overcome.
