I just returned from a vacation that included attending my first meet & greet. If you haven't been to one, give it a shot. I had a great time, met some wonderful ladies, and gents as well. The two guys who hosted did a fantastic job, and a bunch of us got together for dinner afterwards. It really was a lot more than I was expecting.

And how do I get invited to one?

as you know, except for the drama of the preceeding days, the event was a huge success.

A big reason I enjoy doing these events is the response I get from M&G "virgins" like yourself.

Being able to put togehter a classy cocktail party atmosphere for a couple of hours where people can meet new friends and greet old ones is a very satisfying experience.

Thank you for making the effort to come to the Tampa M&G all the way from California.

Janelle or anyone who can enlighten, what is the etiquette for a lady who goes as someone's date?
Do you stay on his arm all night or do you circulate and flirt?  I suppose it depends on the financial arrangements.

I am asking because I recently suggested to my ATF that I take her to a M&G and then decided it would be a bad idea, because whether or not she stayed by me, the other guys would all be oogling and coming up to meet her - and I would be uncomfortable and jealous...(please everyone, save the flames - that's the way I would be - my human nature)

Unless you have an exclusive arrangement, why would you not want to help her business?
If you are worried, pay her to leave with you, but allow her to facilitate her business.

Janelle joined me as my date for the party. We spent a good part of the time close to each other, but we were both there to meet and greet. She is a local lady, and I was an out of towner, so being with her helped me to meet some of the other ladies. It works both ways, and believe me, having Janelle on my arm made me feel ten feet tall, especially when the party was over and it was me that she walked out with. We went to dinner with several other couples, and had a wonderful time.
Remember that even if the lady is your date, you will both be mingling and making new friends and flirting as much as possible.

There's always got to be one or more like you - thanks for reminding me why I don't post much any more.  Now you can flame me for using a fake fake name instead of my real fake name.

I will give you a little more healthy advice since you replied.
You need to separate the "dating" mentality from the hobby. Providers generally do not want you falling for them and being jealous. That gets in the way of their business.
Again, not taking her to a M&G because you are jealous speaks volume. Is that not being selfish?
This is not a flame, just friendly advice.

Yes, meet&greet was a great way for us first timers to meet so many friendly people at one time. I had a great time and felt very safe knowing everyone there was checked out.All the ladies were friendly to me and I tried to introduce myself to everyone. My problem now is putting those faces and names to their posts. By the way Hungry I do hope we met! Another chance to say thankyou to Bob and Keystone for a job well done.
