One more rant........Detroit tried changing models every year or every few years...did not work!  improve and make constant tweaks to the old model until the admin figures out what works to role out a new model. IT DOES NOT WORK THROWING THINGS AGAINST THE WALL TO SEE IF THEY STICK!

When I first started out on here there were a few guys that took me under their wing, so to speak.

One inparticular, wasn't a mod yet(oops!), and turned me onto a certain lady. I was hesitant at first. Not because I didn't trust his taste or his style. I was just in my own ways. But I was lucky enough that I eventually met the lady. She's an ATF and a dear friend to this day. He turned me onto another, and another.

He knew better than I did. Still does.

I'm not saying TER knows better than you or I. I'm sayin give it a chance, as far as the new site.

It really isn't that hard to navigate, and I'm sure we'll all find out all the hoopla was for nothing in the end.

Hope my analogy made sense, and didn't embarass a certain someone.

Though, for some reason knowing him, I doubt it!

Took me aback at first; haven't been on since March (?), but it never hurts to have a change of pace in anything.

I work on websites and periodic overhauls are part of the business. Some users always complain if something makes them change their habits, but most get over it pretty quickly. There's always new features and standards being rolled out, and commercial sites have to stay current.

This redesign seems decent to me at the moment, but I'll have to give it a few more visits before I'm positive. At first glance, I find the new look more friendly and less raunchy, and of course it's kind of "Facebooky." I generally hate the copycat mentality in publishing, online or off, but I can live with this. I see some new copy editing errors too, but whatever.

I'm mostly concerned with the review search engine and that doesn't seem to have lost any features while adding few new ones -- though most aren't of interest to me. I really like the "Save search" feature, though I can't remember if it's new or not. I might have only noticed it now. I wish criteria like "Build" and "Hair color" allowed you to pick more than one option, but that's nothing new.

I can't find the "View my posts" feature for the boards though which is annoying, since I'm all about that ego strokes of being replied to. Maybe I'm just missing it.

Anyhow, good effort on their part.

I hate the new TER site. The old one works great, I want it back.

This is terrible!!! Much harder to use. Who okayed this? Did they try it out first? I simply won't be reading the discussions anymore. The reviews I will struggle with but it's just an aggravation to use.

I would pay extra to be able to use the old system.

It's NOT a matter of getting used to it. It's a very bad design!

However, the new format makes the ability to scan the discussion boards impossible because you cannot see the responses so I will not be using the discussion boards once classic goes away.

IT SUCKS
