I finally figured out how to find the perfect match as far as providers go. This might seem ridiculously obvious to more experienced hobbyists, but here it goes:
1) Check how many reviews a provider has. If she has only one to three reviews, you might be sailing in uncharted waters. I'd say 5 reviews and more are a good sign. 2) Most important of all, check the reviewers!!! If the guy has 10 reviews and they all say: Model Material and Once in a lifetime, you know something is wrong. Either this guy is lying or he is happy with any woman, as long she's breathing. And if the review reads: After she had her 20th orgasm I was ready to come for the 8th time... You know this is not a review but an erotic story.
As a Provider who was outed not that long ago and previously had at least 10 reviews with scores being 8's and 9's all the way around, I had to come back as another name and because of the economy being the way it is, and my availability i only have 2 reviews now, so there is always a reason why a provider might not have a multitude of them, and some girls want to be truly UTR where reviews mean nothing to them because they have "word of mouth" type of clientel. Firstly I spent several months reading local boards and TER before I ever joined and posted. Trying to learn the ropes and avoid newbie mistakes.
Secondly I made a list of ladies that looked interesting. Then I looked for any new reviews of them, and especially any posts by them. I tried to get a feel for their personalities by their posts before I ever contacted anyone. If a lady had a habit of being rude or mean-spirited in her posts I took her off my list. I was also especially on the lookout for those with 1 or 2 reviews only, especially if the 2 reviews were both in the same month. (indicative to my mind of someone possibly having their friends review them, or something worse.)
After I had narrowed my list down a little, I googled and searched on other non-local boards for any old reviews indicating the lady might not be who she said she was, or any past drama.
Finally I contacted a lady. If she did not contact me again after 2 days, I moved on. (However the first lady I waited for a week for a reply. I am still sad at not getting to see her, I'd had a crush on her for months.)
After all of that, I tried to get a feel for her personality through her emails, and to give her an indication of mine in return. If her replies seemed canned and impersonal, I probably wouldn't enjoy seeing her.
After all of my research though, I ended up with 2 experiences... one wonderful, and one terrible. I guess it goes to show that the best research in the world can't always ensure a sure thing. But it can help.
