the future legality/illegality of private sex between consenting adults?

It doesn't legalize "the Hobby", but it will definitely mean less oppression from the religious right.

The United Supreme Court ruled that a Texas Law outlawing sodomy between consenting adults was unconstitutional. California and many other states got rid of those archaic laws years ago.  The ruling means nothing regarding the hobby.  Anti prostitution laws are state laws.

This was pointed out below (by me) and others. I think someone else mentioned that these things have "hyped" short-term effect but lasting long-term effects. So I guess this attitude you see (of cynicism) over what this means to us and this hobby immediately is an example of that.

This is a bit of a contradiction on your part.  The Texas Law was also a state law.
