What is your take on Ladies who charge to set an appointment? I understand there are a lot of flakes who are no shows but if you screen well I would think most will show. Personally it gives me the impression they think they are too good for the rest of us and I will not see them on that basis

do you mean a deposit?

It really does not matter how good their screening is..guys still cancel. You have to understand that they do have costs(hotel, transportation, etc) and cancellation are big blows for them.

You mean a deposit? ... Or an additional donation
on top of the hourly donation for setting it?

Deposit but it really does not matter.

Consider paying me today for a session later. Particularly if you have never met the person! What if she cancels? will she refund (not likely) most likely she will try to reschedule probably at a time less convenient to me. Anyway why would I give a provider my CC info? This is the Hobby!

And do not plan on doing it in the future.  There are plenty of providers out there who are available with just the envelope.  Other than a deposit for what is usually a long date or a high dollar provider, I have never heard of a provider charging just to set up a date.

They usually call it a deposit or down payment.

In some situations it seems reasonable, but I would have to know the lady pretty well.

...by putting skin in the game.  I take deposits 80% of the time.  I do not see many people when I am travelling, so by taking deposits I can pretty much be assured that my date is serious, and will show up.  Once I am in town, if I have extra time,  I will accept a same day appointment without one, but it usually works out that I have arranged enough dates to satisfy my needs (ha!).
I don't see why anyone would be insulted by an escort who handles her business like a professional.  Then again, I don't think many people give much thought to the time and money which goes in to 'touring'.

I've seen some ladies charge a small fee ($50) to screen and then when you pass screening it is applied as a credit towards your date. I don't personally do this, but I can understand why ladies do. It hopefully serves to cut down on time wasters and assure that the lady is paid for her time used for the screening process. I've had gentleman tell me that their "references" are top notch and only to go through all the hassle of emailing and calling their references to find out they haven't seen the guy in 3 years. Talk about a waste of both my and his time.

Also, there's no need to give out CC info. Beyond what everyone else mentioned- there's the green dot money pak. You just put any amount on a money pak, email the lady the code and she can refill her card. You never have to disclose any info:))

That's insecure and invasive for both parties.

Personally, I ask for deposits for longer dates, when travelling to meet someone, or if I'm the one acquiring the hotel room. As mentioned by a few others below, a deposit ensures I'm not going to be out a few hundred dollars in plane tickets and/or hotel rooms, and if it's a longer date, I haven't needlessly set aside a whole night/day/weekend if he has to cancel.

I have to say I am bristling a little at your assumption that I'm gonna take the money and run, so to speak. ;) Every lady has a different policy, but if I cancel, he either gets a full refund or can use the deposit for a later date -- his choice.

It's up to each individual to decide if he wants to take that risk or not. It is definitely a valid concern if you don't know or trust the lady. Like screening information, never give a deposit to someone you know nothing about or who has no vested interest in maintaining a good reputation.

many providers that travel,  ask for deposits to ensure that she will receive enough appts to make the stay worth her time.... and her travel.... I think that if she is well reviewed, and has a good rep, you can prob be safe... and most of the time, if she DOESN'T get enough pre-bookings, she will cancel the trip and of course refund the deposit, as again she has a rep to uphold...

also the deposits are generally done thru sites like paypal, or moneybookers, or etc and the provider would not actually be getting your CC info...

This isn't directed at you, but guys need to understand that if they give a deposit and the lady cancels, there's a very good chance he'll never see that money again.

I've done the deposit route once before but just for a $100 and she showed up. But although she was a very reputable provider, I knew it was a risk.

And unfortunately, other than posting an alert about it, there's little recourse for getting a deposit back if she does cancel and pocket it.

Caveat emptor!

I saw an Eros ad for a model/provider who was traveling through my area. Clicked on her web site link, clicked the appointment icon and found out I'd have to join her web site, for a recurring $99 per month fee, to go any further. No way on that nonsense. Too many ladies, including porn stars, who are easily accessible.

I have never asked for a deposit becasue I have not been in a situation that would require it.  If a girl is traveling accross the country to spend a long period of time with one gentleman, a deposit makes sense.  There are expenses involved in this and time set aside where you're not seeing anyone else.
