All you have to do is go to the beach.

They told me places like that are a tourist trap, ripoff.

Make sure someone with you speaks Spanish.
I have heard some funny, and scary stories about hand gestures, and such when there is a language barrier

I wouldn't go because I read somewhere that most of the girls go in land during the off season.
They work at really nasty brothels in there, an are not safe.
I know we got some nasty dudes right here..

It looked pretty awesome, but you could rent a 5 bedroom house, fill it with girls you find in the states for the money they wanted.

Hound has a very good point about hygiene and living conditions over in DR. I don't trust any of those Latin American countries. I have considered going there, but decided against it
