Interesting that a sex worker admits that he continued to work despite testing positively and being treated by altering his test results.
Kind of makes you think, doesn't it?

I think it goes to show the lengths that sex workers are capable of going to continue making money even when they know themselves to be a danger to others.
This was "just" Syphilis...but it could have been much worse.
I know one lady who did porn and now only escorts, who contracted the clap on a porn set. And she knew exactly which guy it was. But considering that most hetero porn is BB, outbreaks are pretty rare. That said, Mr M, should have known better, he's been at this a long time. His actions were totally reckless and irresponsible.

Years ago Marc Wallice lied about his HIV status and infected at least 5 actresses. It's so scary that the testing and showing of results is so lax! If an actor or actress tests positive for anything, it should be reported immediately to call legitimate porn directors. It is very scary that a performer can hide or somehow alter the results. Marc immediately retired the female actresses he infected and their lives will never be the same again. Mr. Marcus was crying during the interview but if he were truly sorry he would have done a follow up clearing him and making sure he was negative for the disease instead of returning to work.
My mindframe as far as porn goes was no condoms but with all of the test altering, not asking for results and lying, it should be mandatory at this point.

Of course, at least some (most?) of his partners caught it. At least porn has more testing than the civie world. Given more testing, nobody but a dunce would figure to get away with it... and trace right back to him. Catching it is forgiveable... passing it on, is not.
How many of you actually read the linked news story before jumping on the "Mr Marcus is evil" bandwagon.
I'm not backing him up here. He is an asshole for doing what he did, but there are plenty of other guilty parties. First of all his doctor told him take the penicillan shot and he would be disease free in ten days. He didn't go back to work for 11 days. He thought he was cured. Stupid? Yes Recklsess? Yes. But the doctor has some blame in that. Whey didn't he tell him to come back and get checked again in ten days, rather than "you will be cured in ten days."
The fact that he altered the results was of course wrong and he had to know he was wrong in doing that. If he thought he was cured why didn't he get tested again? But here again, a lot fo blame goes to the Directors or producers who accepted his altered results. he showed one of them his results on his smartphone. Another one he gve them a photocopy, which was made after folding over the part with the S results. Why arent' the directors demading official copies of the results.
Another thing to ponder. Who did he get if from? Was it someone else in the industry? How many others are or were infected before him?
It seems worth mentioning here that the doctor who treated MM was not interviewed. What we read was MM's version of how things went. The doctor may very well have actually said "please come back in 10 days and get re-tested. After we get the results I will let you know if you are OK to go back to work".
In another interview MM tried to implicate the testing agency in the cover-up as well-something that the agency vehemently denies.
Would like to hear the doctor... If the treatment was supposed to be adequate, why hide the results? I bet he was supposed to be retested.
BTW, we normally carry traces of infections. Above a certain level is positive, below is negative. Even inadequate or a resistant strain will show below the treashhold (negative)... while on treatment. The treatment must end, a waiting period to see if the titer continues to go down or recurrs and then retesting to confirim that you're clear.
I think he hid it because he knew he should have a waiting period and be retested.
Once you test positive for any STD you are not allowed to work again until you show up with a report showing negative results for all std's.
I don't really know what the doctor told him. I only based it on what was said in the one article I read.
My point still stands that there is blame to be spread around. It just seemed like everyone in the thread was jumping on Mr. M, and while I am certainly not defending him, as he was definitely wrong, I just was pointing out that others were involved. Maybe the doctor is not one of the ones who should be blamed, (and I didn't see the other interview where he blamed the testing agency, but I assume they are innocent), but definitely those who accepted the bogus test results share blame.
Honestly I have no problem placing most of the blame for Mr. Marcus' bad behavior on Mr. Marcus. That being said, he produced a doctored report that at least one porn producer fell for and certainly should have known better. One could argue that Mr. M wouldn't have faked the report if he didn't think he could get away with it...at least once.
What's kinda telling is that, with all the years he's been in the business, he couldn't afford to just take a few weeks off and get treated. No one would have known. Now his career is pretty much over.
We know that they could be clear one day, infected the next, hence the condom use. Porn actors and actresses don't have the luxury of protecting themselves with covers. We could say that in this case paying for it is the better option.
