Doctors and nurses wear gloves because we work under the concept that any patient, newborns included, can be a potential risk. ANY, bodily fluid or secretion is considered a bio hazard, tears would also be included.

There are also times were the guy is "too large", and repetitively hitting a women's cervix can cause spotting to occur, even if she's no where near her time of the month.
