I know this is not your intention.  However, your wording surely create that impression when I read your message.  I think she is definitely leaning towards if not actually already practise the "Invisible Semi-Pro" option.

I don't know all the conversation in that meeting so it is hard to say for sure.  I would suggest you to continue the pursuit.  If she will accept another brainstorm session, a date or light shopping, that would be an even stronger indication.

You were probably right to back off the subject but I'm with you nobody let's someone stay in a $1200 a month apartment for free someone's getting paid one way or another.  But it doesn't sound like you came off looking like a total a-hole so no damage to your reputation.  Thanks for sharing.

I submitted a post very early this morning regarding your post but I guess it wasn't accepted.  Nothing wrong with helping a lady in need, bit I am along the same lines of curious.  You seem a little obsessed with the life style of working girls.  I also live in a very small community where not only am I known but so is my better half and can't understand why you would even want to broach the subject with her. Well, actually I do but that alone is another subject.  

My opinion is that the anonymity sites like this give you coupled with the air of bravado gained from the knowledge that other like minded men are high fiving you makes you feel invincible. Not to mention your percieved power over women from the reviews you give. Didn't your momma teach you not to sh*t on your own doorstep.

Hmmm! My guess is that, before too long, your friend will find her "free" apartment does come with strings attached. After all, if the apartment rental is $1200 a month, the pre-tax dollars you would need is something like $1600. Or, put another way, that's about the price of a Toyota Camry each year.

Possibly if she thinks such arrangements are common, she wants to be your "special" friend (i.e., light kiss, handshake etc.) for similar compensation. The real world should promptly enlighten her.

I'm sure most of us were cheering you on hoping you would accomplish the unimaginable but I guess not.  Nevertheless, you were a better man for trying.  Who knows, she may actually thought you were really trying to help her instead of help yourself!  LOL  Anyway, you didn't come off the meeting looking like a loser.  She still thinks highly of you and maybe an affair with her is still possible someday should the opportunity rise up again.

I think there must be a "catch" to that free apartment thing.  Maybe she is doing one of those 24hr live cam or something in order to get it for free.  Or worst yet, the guy who gave the apartment to her has it bugged with cameras everywhere to spy on her!  LOL... sorry, my active imagination is running again...

When you brought up the exmaple of the wealthy suitor, it was too direct, and undiplomatic ... these decisions, are not black and white.  If she was ready to plunge forward as a courtesan, she wouldn't have been playing the little cat and mouse with you.

You need to re-engage her, more diplomatically, and as she starts to respond to your touch and feel, seize the moment.

It's always more fun to try than not, I always say.  Don't let it dissuade you from attempting further adventures, you never know!

It sounds something like a discussion that I saw on another messageboard, where someone was describing what he called "semi-pros".  These are ladies, apparently, who expect to be taken out to lunch and drinks, driven around, don't even supply their own condoms, and after all that, they may or may not supply any "services" because they're "selective", and they only want a couple of regular clients to pay the rent and bills.  IN other words, all the hassles of dating with all the expense of an SP situation.  But apparently some guys like the "challenge"!

Me, I prefer the straightforward approach.
