Is it asking too much for the hypersensitive to ignore a “flame” from an alias?angry_smile

Over and over and OVER again the sanctimonious and thin skinned raise their torches and pitchforks in hatred for the “alias” feature and its use.
I have been contributing to these boards for quite some time and have seen the alias feature used in a multitude of amusing, practical, topical, and innocuous ways.

 Without fail the single misuse of aliases (IE: Flaming) seems to be the redundant battle cry for their banishment.
If one has the constitution to post their views no matter how possibly converse or controversial to others (or the majority) using their primary TER username; wouldn’t such stalwartness be indicative of a personality immune from puerile attack from less honorable detractors hiding behind an “alias”?


The below is taken directly from the (**UPDATED** message board policies) link atop these forum pages

     “Posting rude and mean comments while hiding under an ALIAS, will be reported to the moderator and the post will be modified to EXPOSE your USERNAME. Aliases are not to be abused for such purposes*****”

 The rule is written. If one is incensed by a cheep ad hominem attack from an alias...REPORT IT!

If an innocuous post by an alias somehow irritates you merely because it is posted by an alias; show some of this extraordinary character you alias haters brag of, and just frig’n IGNORE IT!!

I find that that the people that whine about aliases are generally too sensitive to be on a board devoted to critiquing sexual services.

I get SO TIRED of those that claim "My virgin ears" & and "My virgin eyes". Or  "He/She can't say that". Those that can't stand a little heat, ribbing, ball busting, off color humor, tasteless crap, and hardcore talk/topics can always go knit a shawl, or go to a Girl Scout meeting!

This is a Sex board to discuss the finer points on cock sucking, ball licking, pussy slurping, gagging, ass pounding, and balls deep Greek!

Some people here have ZERO senses of humor, and would like to turn TER into a "Have a nice day" site. I wish you all a nice day, but wish more would quit whining, and stick to the topic of this board/site --- SEX & the HOBBY!

The only time I have a problem with an alias is they are totally mean spirited  looking to truly hurt some one and most of the time that some one is a woman. And if he heats woman that much then no maybe he should be outed or band and that goes for here too .. As we have learned there are also psycho women who just hate  every one. Other then that I like all the silly stupid Funny post you guys bring.

Come on Fuzzy, why that mean ol red angry face. Anger is bad for your health. Don't you understand about Karma. I thought I remembered us smoking pot together in Haight Ashbury. Whoa, must have been somebody else.  And that from the man I so respect on this board.

I just hope my therapist and yoga instructor have some times open this week so my emotions are not in a tatters! Whew I do have my Buddhist sitting group tomorrow night. Darn you Fuzzy for my chi is out of balance. Gonna have to get an acupuncture treatment.

Like Fuzzy mentioned, this is a hobby board.
This is not Disneyland, or a British tea party.
I agree that if you don't like the message, ignore it. That, however is probably asking too much.

An interesting test would be if all alias usage was banned for a week. We would see how much the boards would slow down, and how boring they would become.

The anti-alias contingent should give us a break already.

that I suppose one needs to get used to, a skill one needs to learn. While you are a veteran here, I am new to these message boards, and have never participated in anything remotely like it. After being here a while, I am beginning to learn the "culture" here. I now realize that it is the better policy to simply ignore any post that does not suit me, and to ignore "flames".

At one time I advocated the banning of Aliases out of annoyance with the way a tiny minority use them. I realize that this was an incorrect position to take on the issue and am fully satisfied with the amended policy.

some of the folks who were annoyed with me because of the views I expressed on P&R did not leave it there. They brought an attitude to their responses to me on GD.  To me, them ain't kosherized rules.  But, are you advocating that the rowdiness of P&R should be normative on GD? Certainly not newbie ';-)

RR and rarely see eye to eye politically, but I see no reason to bring any type of animus to the GD board, or any other board for that matter. That goes for everyone else from the P&R board except for those that bring their same meanspirited attitude to other forums.

and FWIW I wholeheartedly support the new policy. I have been one of the loudest in my criticism of the misuse of aliases, but it's only the "misuse" of them that bothers me, not the practice itself.
