I have a question for providers , who use hotels for incall ...
Have you ever been randomly called on your hotel phone , by a random guy who wants to hit on you ?
This has happened to me twice now !!!

The first time was in Wichita , Kansas ...
I was checking into my hotel room + a random guy on the street followed me to my hotel room door ...
He saw what room I went into.  Then , he was blowing up the hotel phone (( inside my room !!! ) , trying to hit on me ; using that method !!!

The second time was yesterday in Macon , Georgia ...
I was inside my incall space (( hotel room )) ...
After a night of drunken debauchery with a client , I went back to my room and ordered late night pizza delivery.
The pizza delivery man blew up the hotel room phone ; trying to hit on me !!!

Neither of these men knew I was "working."  They just wanted to hit on me over my hotel room phone number !!! LOL

but a pizza delivery guy is still acting as an employee/agent of the company. The company would be less than thrilled to know what kind of liability he is opening them up to.

A simple phone call to the manager ought to at least get you a free pizza for your aggravation.  Especially if you hint that you have a very good, and very aggressive attorney on speed dial. lol

Sure hope you enjoyed my sausage, pepperoni and onion pizzas.

I had to get my ass out and go to Portillo's for an Italian beef with hot peppers instead!

Hahaha I bet pizza delivery guys have the best sexual fantasies that typically involve something you'd see in a cheesy porno. I bet he was praying for some action, Gretchen!

It did happen to me once, but it was the guy in line behind me as I was checking in. We chatted in line a little as we waited, and he seemed friendly. He overheard the concierge telling me my room number. He called my room about 20 minutes later asking if I'd like to meet him in the hotel restaurant for drinks and dinner. I had a cancellation, so I went for it. Had a nice time and that was it. In morning I met him again for breakfast and we parted ways. He was hitting on me in a polite and gentlemanly way and flirting the whole time, so I wasn't sure what was up. Guess he was just looking for conversation and company, which was cool. I'm always up for some free food, obviously. LOL :)

So basically, you would be getting extra sausage for free as well, right? lol

Did you have a sign out "Will fuck for pizza?"

Oh well as long as you were good and drunk, I guess it's all in a night's work.

He would not stop pestering me. Whenever I went back to that hotel, I would purposefully get off on the wrong floor if he went on the elevator with me... or when he asked me which floor I was on, I'd tell him the wrong floor.

If he followed me all the way to where I was going after getting off on the wrong floor, I'd say, "Ugh. Im so dumb. Wrong floor." and turn around back to the elevator. He usually didn't follow me to the elevator to my room that time. But he was adamant.

What a creep.

men following you into the hotel!?  All the way to your room?   Now the Pizza Delivery guy is different since you had to give him the room number...   "Does your boss know you are calling me?"  I'd call the number on the pizza box & have the manager stop the harassment.  Many hotels have lists of local businesses for customers convenience...  & would react negatively to a guest's complaints.
I think I'd be inclined to take the phone off the hook...  front desk might come calling as they can probably tell it's off.  You do not want to draw attention to yourself with the front desk or outside authorities.
Hotels I've been to don't usually have plug in phones...  unplugging the phone would disable with no error code.
I get spam calls pretty often...  I just put the phone down & leave the room with no reply.

Since when will a hotel operator just connect you to a room without knowing the name of the person in the room?  I thought they always insisted on that.

In any case, all these instances sound a bit creepy vis a vis stalking.  If anyone  followed me up to my room to see which room I was in, I'd go right back down and get a new room pronto, and tell the clerk exactly why.

Too many nut jobs out there these days

to dangerous people out there, especially after a drunken debauchery.

A few folks have suggested that you contact the pizza delivery store and report against their driver for harassment, that may work if it's a major chain operation. If it's a local Mom and Pop store, that may not work too well.

Something tells me that you aren't taking the necessary precautions to protect yourself against stalkers and creeps.

If something like that happens again, go straight to the hotel desk and ask for a different room due to safety reasons. If by chance that the hotel is full, ask if the hotel desk if they can route the hotel phone to an answering machine or something of that sort.

That should take care of the issue. No one would know that you are "working", but just passing through to your next destination. No need to take chances with stalkers.

You need to protect yourself and not take this "hitting up" lightly.

I do not travel a lot but if the desk person speaks my room number in the presence of others, I slide it back to them and request that they write the number of my new ,different room and not speak it. It shows poor training and concern for safety of both the guest and hotel. Glad your experience turned out well.

I agree with you. Especially for a lady traveling alone. No reason to verbally identify her room number.

I travel a lot. Many of the hotels, especially the less expensive chain hotels, use automated switchboards now. You just select a number and dial the room number and your connected directly to that room. The better hotels will ask you to identify the guest before putting a call through.

It's tough out there on the road alone for these ladies. I appreciate that they do it but want them to be safe.

Not as flattery, but as someone putting my well being and business in danger.

I've learned long ago that a smile from a nice lady is registered different than a smile from a nice looking lady. It can be annoying if sunny is your usual disposition but it is necessary. I often act polite but tired/annoyed/just finish this transaction-ish. Not rude but certainly not engaging.

The manager of a hotel checked me in and I was all smiles yet kept the chit chat to a minimum, however that didn't stop him from calling my room and offering me access (drinks) in the concierge lounge…WITH him of course. What did I do? Checked out. I'm there for my clients and have appointments and can't get my groove on if I'm terrified some guy is gonna call or knock or be watching my room.

My saying no thanks and shortly after having a man in my room may make him feel a certain way, he may have an inner bitch moment… Hell hath no fury like an insecure man rejected. It's dangerous.

The pizza guy? Holy inappropriate. Pay attention to what you wear, have the shower running with the door closed and answer fully dressed. Yell "pizza's here" loud enough for the pizza guy to think you're informing someone (not alone). Or better yet just have them deliver it to the front desk, inform the front desk and they'll give you a ring when it arrives.

As far as the guy off the street…c'mon now. A man follows you from the street to your room and you don't so much as stop, change direction or confront him? I'm glad you're alive girl. Hobby or not this doesn't fly. Even coming home if someone is walking behind me I stop and pretend to be digging for something in my purse, even though mace is already in my hand and let them PASS YOU. Then you continue and if they attempt to do the same you now know you are in a situation. How to not be murdered 101.

Don't forget your objective, the reason you're in a hotel room in the first place, for us this counts as work ethic… and as some would say "protect ya neck".

You should have anonymously lodged a complaint to corporate,(assuming it was a chain)!  Medium to higher end properties would never tolerate that type of behavior.  My thoughts from the Governors Mansion!

guest.

The OP could go to the hotel management and ask why the operator was putting calls through to her room from people she doesn't know.

My late sister was, at the time, a pretty blonde co-ed...   had a hair appointment FOR HER WEDDING.  The guy did a nice job & she was pleased.   Must have smiled at the guy.  Damned if he didn't hit on her & later called the house & tried again.  She was having none of it, of course.  WTF??

You guys know how some hotels have an atrium design (the rooms face the center of the building, but the center is open so the "hallways" have balconies overlooking the bar/restaurant/fountains and shit)? Well I was staying at one of those once and decided to take advantage of the "manager's reception" (free drinks from 5p-7p or something like that). So I'm sitting at the bar with my vodka tonic and some dude and I engage in a VERY brief, casual conversation. Once I finish my drink, I politely excuse myself and bounce.

Cut to the next morning, my room phone starts ringing incessantly starting at like 6:30a. I was still sleeping so I kept ignoring it/thinking it was my alarm. Finally, after the damn thing rings for about an hour, I pick it up thinking that it has to be important (maybe the front desk or something). The dude on the other end says "Hey! It's Joe." I'm like "What? Joe who?" He responds, "We talked at the bar last night." I'm still half asleep at this point so I'm totally confused. Finally it occurs to me that he must have watched me from the atrium as I returned to my room and was able to make the call since it was a room-to-room call. I was thoroughly creeped out (not to mention pissed that he was blowing up my shrill as fuck room phone at the crack of dawn). Luckily, I was checking out that morning anyway, but still. What would make anyone think that that's appropriate? Bunch of sillies, I tell ya what.

He was probably up at 6:30 AM for the free breakfast.

That's the problem with meeting people where everything is free, you tend to run into cheap people, I bet he would have shit if you told him your rates.

BTW, I have no idea if you were staying in an Embassy Suites, it just sounds like every one of them that I have ever stayed in.

and I am sure he had no idea you were a pro, otherwise he would have started out asking for a discount. lol

but honestly, who starts "stalking" at 6:30 AM??? I might be interested in the woman laying next to me that early in the morning, but I am not about to start looking for dates that early. Sheesh even a pig like me would let a girl get her morning coffee before hitting on a total stranger.

I got nervous as shit when I saw you once. It was in one of those hotels and when I walked in I got super paranoid. All I could think of was oh great, this 5 foot blonde is a cop busting a 220 pound red guy on the news.... End result was way better than my imagination.😍
