Everything turned out excellently.

The worst thing was that the gal got a painful ear infection after going in the pool, but we were directed to a local medical clinic that had her as good as new after cleaning out some ear wax.  I think it cost us $25 - now that's a health care plan!

The hotel provided us with our own private guide to the island, gratis!  (We tipped him, of course, and he directed us to shops no doubt run by his family, but it was all good just the same.)

I count it as among the best vacations I have ever taken.  I highly recomend Bali not only for the usual nice tourist amenities and shopping but for the very interesting cultural aspects of the island.

If you do ever travel so far, don't cheap out on the airfare.  Get business class sleeper seats (Cathay Pacific - what a great airline!) and you will be so comfortable that you don't want the flight to end.  (Great food too and you get to use the First Class lounge to shower and use the internet between legs of the flight.)

I did however take a provider to Hawaii once for a ten day vacation, we were dating at the time (real OTC dating), but had only spent a few nights together, and had only known each other a few months.

It was a complete,unmitigated disaster. It turned out we were completely incompatible and the only saving grace was that we changed our earlier vacation plans which were to take a two week cruise together. lol We broke up almost immediately after returning home. Things were so bad on the trip, I actually snuck out to see a provider while on vacation with a provider. lol I felt like one of these married guys here who have to sneak around.

OTOH I have taken many shorter trips with providers in other countries. Lots of times I will meet a lady in a city like San Jose, CR or Bogota, Colombia and then hook up and go to a beach resort for a few days together if we get along well enough.

Was seriously considering/planning on taking my AFT (ex now) on a biz trip this September to Sydney and Singapore with a stopover for 4 - 5 days in Bali, but that all fell through....I don't think I wouldn't purchase airline tickets in advance of out of concern the provider might flake out just before...I would reimburse afterwards, but not beforehand....at least for an overseas trip....
