I got Psyched

I've been with several providers now, and some of them have been repeats.  I don't consider myself a newbie anymore, but I'm definitely not a seasoned professional.  I've selected providers based on positive reviews, so my selection criteria could be considered a "random sample".

I've been noticing a recurring theme on my appointments....

Psychology Majors

Out of the 12 or so providers I've met with, 8 of them say they study or did study psychology.  I'm no statistician, but that's an abnormal bell curve if I've ever seen one.

I dated two exotic dancers in college, and they were both Psych majors, and I've met quite a few since then who are/were Psych majors.

On a side note, I met with a provider just yesterday (Psych major, btw), and she told me she looks at her service as "therapy" for her clients.

Has anyone else noticed this trend?  Any theories as to why Psychology is/was such a popular field of study among providers?

Have you ever thought why providing is such a popular occupation among psych majors?

Personally, I think it's balancing karma - what could be vaguer and more useless than a psych major, and what could be more concrete and useful than sex?

You may quote me on that.

I wouldn't hold your breath waiting for anyone to quote you.  It's about as profound and deep as the stale coffee currently staining my coffee mug.

why the vindictiveness against psych?  just wondering.

Quote you?  why? seems you do good enough yourself in providing your opinion.

Well, I wish you'd stop eye-fucking my equipment.  That's your daughter's job.

No need to worry about an a**hole shortage here.  Dr Fill seems to have filled the quota.

get back to the P&R board.  You're lost.

you know what to do!

I'm trying to help you and all the voices in your head.  Now take my hand and I'll walk you back over to the P&R board so you can leave these nice people here alone.

"Take my hand"?   Hmm... maybe you do need that dildo...

do you need them & love them?

I like them just fine - as long as they're female, hot, ass up and mouth taped shut.  And a little bondage never hurts, either.

Otherwise, they're just useless mouth-breathers with unspecified personality disorders.

Pretty poor.  A BS in psych could get a gal a job in social work...  I can't explain a surplus of nurses or physical therapists.  There are lots of opportunities for them.

What about ladies with political science degrees?  The double life that comes with providing is good practice for politics!!

if it is possible to find happiness in marriage... in this current society.

Like you, I've noticed a lot of providers are psych majors or actually have a psychology degree....  more that you would expect in the general population.  My stripper friends also number more psych majors or psychology wanna-bees that you would expect.   SOME  are in this hobby trying consciously or subconsciously trying to figure out their world.   SOME grew up without the benefit of both parents.   Which is way as a divorced dad of a daughter, I stay close to my daughter... and watching my ex wife's brothers, I also make sure I stay close to my son....  I don't want my daughter seeking the approval of a substitute dad - if I can provide that to her... and already at 12 or so, I can see the effect of my approval on her.

I also don't want the witholding of that approval to result in the tragedy I witnessed a year ago....  when one of the nicest, and most beautiful woman I know, took her life... sadly, her dad had refused to take her to her honors awards program at her college - yea.  she was a dancer - but also a person....  with human needs from her dad, that he failed to meet.... and every day I struggle to provide something of me... to my kids....

why?  that is only supposition...

other women are in this profession - because they like sex... and choose to get paid for having a great time...

I have noticed that many people have deep sitted douts about there own self worth "and exseptance" wether or not there was perental involvment. and the easyest way to look for understanding is to take a class.

(even a mortician!)

But the one field that I've noticed more than the others is nursing or physical therapy.

It makes sense to me.

I have also seen two gals who do social work which is similar to psychology.

I've also noticed a tendency for gals to be in the legal field.  I guess the oldest profession shares something in common with the second oldest profession.

Talk about dealing with stiffs lol.  I hope your review didn't indicate "she just laid there" lol

but her family is in the buisness so she came by it honorably.

And I met two ladies who are now in medical school. I would happily go to either one for a physical.

You need to explain to them when you are laying flat on the couch, they are supposed to be sitting in the chair, not on your face.  LOL

and then check my laundry to lick last weeks skid marks out.

let's work on those anger issues.  Tell me about your father and mother.  Do you hate your father and lust after your mother?  You know it's time for help don't you?

Go to the TJ board, and see if you can find somebody to administer what you need.

LOL....too funny! When someone asks me what I do for a living...I always tell them I'm a physical and psychological therapist!

... I FUCKING GUARANTEE that many of them are pulling your leg as well as your johnson!  They're telling you that, b/c it plays into their hands.  Even IF (and many are) they ARE still in college, they may be majoring in something else.  Why tell you "psychology"?  B/c it's NOT the truth!  That's the point!  They don't want you knowing all the details of their personal life!  I'm not saying that all of them lied to you, but wake up and smell the obvious!

I would not, nor could not, answer for all those studying psychology. I went the "art" direction and in the business field for many years. However, I have noticed that friends and mere acquaintances who have extensively studied psychology have had a lot of problems with their own families. I think they want to make a difference in other's lives and -- in some strange way -- it's healing for them to help others while analyzing themselves.

Actually, some of the most kinkiest people I have spent time with since I have been in this business have been psychologists, judges and accountants. :)

Hugs,
ciara
