Interesting perspective

I started this thread on another board, but I'm curious what this wider audience has to offer. (Yes, I have a lot of time on my hands as I'm sitting around killing time before another flight, I feel like the female version of Up In The Air.)

Forums always seem so full of angry people - but then again, the internet is a Theater Of Hate, regardless of the topic.

It's easy to think this world is full of mean spirited people, when in fact there are many good and honorable ones, who care about the well being of others and try not to mislead people.  I think the best stories never get told, and that's an awful shame. For women I think there's a fear that talking about the sweeter moments puts a target on our head.

So I'd like to hear from those willing to share, about the kinder, gentler moments they've had in this world.

I'll start:

On any trip that is over 48 hours, I always request from gentlemen that I get at least 3 hours of time each day to catch up with work from my day job.    That way, when I'm away for a week, I don't return to my office in a mad dash to catch up.

I had been on a date when something came up at my office and had to deal with it. So he patiently waited as we sat at a cafe and I worked away on my laptop while talking on the phone. Because the technology gods had cursed me, things just dragged on and on. I realized as I kept working that we weren't going to make the plans he set out for us. At one point he excused himself and went back up to the room, and I thought: "Oh no! He's angry or frustrated."

So on my way back to our room I got myself ready to grovel for forgiveness, feeling sincerely remorseful.

The moment I enter the room, I see our bed covered in rose petals. "You seemed to need some stress relief," he said with a broad smile. Talk about giving a woman weak knees.  He had gone to a flower shop, bought two roses, and peeled off the petals, scattering them about.

Since our plans were already dashed, we stayed in until morning - such a surprise energizes a woman's libido.

It was such a nice feeling, to be welcomed that way. Even better that he respected the importance of my career, and didn't hold this moment against me.

Gents, thank you for those kind of moments, they reignite my hope in humanity. They make us feel appreciated as  human beings, and I can honestly say, win you a place in our memory that will never be forgotten.

Wouldn't it be nice, to retire from companionship and hobbying, with enough memories to keep you smiling till your last breath?

Cheers!

I find the Cinnabon a great place for refuge..:0
then a telephone call to one of my favorite" "ATF's(hobbyists)" that is if he is available to talk..

If that fails
I find a hottie at the bar. I have a bloody mary spicy and then start dialing one of my Las Vegas provider friends and catch up and laugh at the comings and goings of all the 'civvies" at the airport especially(McCarran)
sometimes I see someone and wonder to myself.." I think that man is a hobbyist I saw two years ago!"
than I think to myself "look away Lorena" : )-
In other words OP ,
Dont take the discussion boards so seriously..
Enjoy..

What I really like to do is flirt with the guys in uniform. They always seem pleasantly surprised that someone will sit down and chat them up. Friendly, never hit on me, almost old fashion gentlemanly. I'm quite impressed by them.   If ever their occupation at war comes up, they just say "It's just a job." Which I think they're taught to say.

So sweet that you can call your ATF to catch up.  I have two whom I can ring up just for a chat, it's a nice feeling to be able to do that. Glad you found someone you connect with.

Re: Dont take the discussion boards so seriously..

I shan't, I'm just getting my sealegs on here, and I'd never received that kind of PM on any other forum - and I've been on a few of them over the years! Didn't know how to take it. Took me off guard that's all. Thanks :)

Awww, we can't say nice things about the boys in front of the boys? Okay, will do.

Hopefully some will be brave enough to chime in - even the guys must have had some moments of sweetness in this world.

I hope...

the great part about you MP is you are not attatched..hehe
yet, Imn  simply noticing that this OP should enjoy the "sisterhood" of "provideronly"board..

Ofcourse, The hobbyists deserve many compliments.. I am ALWAYS grateful and thankful for them..
yet, there comes a point where it becomes repetitive and possibly faux.. : (

I know the men of TER can read through the BS ..
So, I am just wanting her to get involved in the female community..
Compliments about hobbyists go further when the women read than when the men read.. you dig? hehehe
thats your language MP!!

I don't have access to the ladies forum, as I've just discovered it,  and I'm bored stiff lol

I hear you, don't know that I agree.   My thoughts: I see no harm or indiscretion (I had permission to post), and with all the negative things often posted in the GD forum, why not say positive things to?

I see no harm in men hearing us say good things about their roll in the world *shrug*

This reminds me of a common discussion in feminist studies: I thought men should have an international Man's Day, to celebrate the male gender. And feminists feel everyday is international man's day LOL

I saw a very prominent provider in Vegas only one time for a couple hours. I rescheduled a couple months later for a dinner date.

Yikes, two days before the appointed date, I got the flue. Real bad flue. I had already not eaten for over a day and feeling week, but needed to call her to cancel the appointment and avoid the contaminating of her as well. She was totally cool and a true sweetheart. It was only a day later I was to find out how sweet.

I get a call from her telling me she was couple blocks away and wondered if she could stop by. Our first date was an outcall to my house just so you understand. I tried to avoid this because first I was sick as hell, not wanting to contaminate her and you all know what you look and feel like when you have the flue. She would have none of that and demanded to see me. So I gave in to my better judgment. I opened the door to this little blonde hottie who had a huge tub or maybe tanker full of beef stew. She came in and prepared it for me and watched me eat, while chatting about everything under the sun. I wanted to bang her so damn bad, but I was in no condition. I love this girl to this day and we often talk on a regular basis.

Oh and I took her pot back to her house about a week later. I was so freaking horny it was crazy. Yum on the stew and yummy yummy on her.

HI,
Late in 2007 i was going to have a heart procedure performed on me, out of state. I had previously set up an appointment w/ my ATF, but had to cancel due to the lack of funds, because of the trip I had to take. She called me & offered yo see me @ a fraction of her cost. I will never forget the act act of kindness.
A few years back I was w/ a provider. Mr. Happy was not up for the party, because of a physical condition, at the time. I ,however, had a wonderful time. As I came out of the bathroom, to leave. She was standing there w/ half of the donation ready to give me a refund. I said thank-you, but you keep it, for i had a great time despite the limitations. I kssed her & left.
Providers are wonderful souls!!!!

Deliberate is the stuff hope wells from...

For instance....

Picking up my stepdaughter, squeezing her tight, kissing her on the cheek and watching her smile brighten the room.

Seeds of positivity flourish...

Was on my way to an appt in Houston (not my home area) several years ago and was running late.  Highway 6 (the outer beltway around Houston) has toll booths every few miles.  I pulled up to one and got into the shortest line, only to discover that it was the "quick pass" line, and I didn't have a quick pass.  Was panicking thinking I would never be able to cut into one of the other lines (try that in DC - nobody will let you in).  Well about that time some guy must have picked up on my conundrum and waved me into the line in front of him.  I was elated!

So when I got to the tollbooth, I gave the attendant enough money to pay both mine and his tolls...

What a lovely thought!

Perhaps no moment of kindness is truly random.  They do sort of build up in us until they scream to be let out.

That's really sweet of her, sounds like someone you were lucky to run into.

I had a week long date with someone, and caught a nasty flu before leaving. I called to cancel but he insisted I come down anyway.

He spent half the week nursing me back to health. Fortunately, we could still play, just low energy, I mostly lay back and enjoyed.

It was a miracle that he didn't catch my bug.
