interesting, didn't know DLR still has that kind of pull

I certainly enjoy listening to the Old VH (never really cared for the post-DLR days).  Many groups just have their glory years.  VH, Def Leppard, AC/DC, Iron Maiden, Pearl Jam, Rush - I love all their old music but never cared for their newer stuff.

BTW, DLR usually comes across as obnoxious to me - I do agree that he appears to be intelligent and I'm sure witty.  And VN is certainly a ''has-been''.

Sports stars, movie stars, members of elite military units.  What do they all have in common?

To do their jobs at all they need egos far bigger than anything normal.  For the military elite (SEALs, fighter pilots, etc.) this is part of their training.  

Add the adulation they recieve everywhere, some alcohol, a recreational drug or 2, mix well, and voila, you've got an ubermensch who can't be bothered with the norms of civilized behavior which restrict us ordinary mortals.

VN is a "has-been" ... especially with the ladies ... he isn't even 1/8th as "witty" as DLR ... and women dig "articulate" and "witty" guys ... or so i'm told!  ;-)
