Common sense, common courtesy?

I read the observations on tabu's web site and one hit a chord. The section on verification.....first all of these sites want to charge me to verify who I am. That's ok but they assume that I am employed, ie I have an a company that I work for. Hey, I am an independent contractor. Actually I am a remodeling contractor. Either I sub out or I work on my own. Who do I give them to verify me. The work I do is either under someone else's license or it doesnt need a license. Any ideas on what to do that wont cost a fortune. Thanks ladies.......and guys

While items 1 to 5 are repeated here often, items 6 and 7 are even more important.
