Please be safe out there.  I personally know 2 members who died.  One on the way to and appointment, one leaving.

I know even more who wished they were dead when their SO found out :-)

I just quickly read that and found it very interesting. I guess because there is no hidden agenda to keep people dying on the roads, there is no need to bring it to the fore-front.

Another subject is alcohol, which could conceivably contribute to those thousands of deaths. I don't see anyone banning booze or making the punishment so unattractive one would think twice before getting behind the wheel and driving. Too much money to be made.

Although because a few people died from taking too many ephedra pills, they saw fit to ban that. There is no rhyme nor reason sometimes to what governments do.

And what about those people who abuse prescription drugs? Are they going to ban those because a few crazy people? Nah...too much money to be made.

It all comes down to politics and money.

Cars are far more likely to kill you than guns, global warming, STDs, Terrorists or all the other political agenda crap.

Except for Toyota Prius.  That's the car Jesus would drive.

Uh, Jesus died dude.  The car must not be that safe, LOL.

Sorry in advance for all of the Christians that I've undoubtedly offended.

But I thought Darwin adapted.  Now I'm totally confused.  What kind of car was he driving?

He adapted to Hell just fine.  He drove a purple AMC Matador.

I'm fuckin tired of people saying what I'd do, and I sure as shit wouldn't drive no Piece-of-Shit Prius.

What the Fuck you think I sit at the Right Hand of God, holding title to a fucking joint tenancy in heaven, to drive a piece of shit like THAT!!  I doubt I'd use it for lightning target practice.

You morons are so used to sucking ass that you can't see the OBVIOUS, that Toyota is a wholly owned subsidiary of Purgatory, and I make people buy Priuses to extend their penance on earth.  She-it.  Fucking morons.

But you don't have long to wait now for the Second Coming.  Not a goddamned single worthwhile thing has been done since we called Enzo home.  We're just winding up to unleash SOLAR CARS, and cause the planet to self-destruct.

Traffic these days is literally a battle everybody has to fight an hour or two a day, complete with high casualties.

Hell, by numbers it's deadlier than the Civil War.

People who write articles like this really should be banned from ever writing anyting more complicated than a grocery list ever again. The author of this piece is comparing apples and oranges, and deciding that the result must surely be a grape.

There is a HUGE difference between an auto accident, where the key word is "accident", and a deliberate attack on innocent civilians with the intent of taking as many innocent lives as possible. The auto industry invests millions into research to make cars safer. Unfortunately, they haven't come up with a method to automatically short circuit any cell phones present in a car when the car is started. So depsite the vast improvements in auto safety, people are still dying to talk on the phone - literally.

9/11 however, is an entirely different situation. On that day, we were attacked by faceless cowards who seek to destroy the very fabric of our nation if they can. It was no accident, and as long as we have islamic extremists, our best defense will continue to be a good offense to hunt down and kill or capture those who would seek to destroy us.

So the message is, turn your cell phone off, wear your seat belt, and don't fly a plane into a building.

Oh, and don't listen to someone who actually thinks there is a parallel to be drawn between madmen and a cell phone addicted inattentive driver.

Extremely approx:

annual deaths from:

illegal drugs:       5,000
alcohol:            50,000
tobacco:           500,000
obesity (fats):   5,000,000

Now, which of these is the most regulated and which is the least regulated?

Not only that, but it had absolutely nothing in common with the rest of the thread.
