Aside from being a great moderator, I consider him a friend.  He still pops by every now and then, although usually only here as an alias.  If it helps any, I've tried to talk him into returning to the ranks.  He always told me that I was doing great as a mod, and I appreciated that he was so polite when he lied like that.

who performed the functions of a mod without pursuing a personal agenda.

not to knock the current mods, but DC. sets the standard by which i will judge all other mods.

I'll admit, DC and I didn't see things the same way. I respect that, to an extant. Same thing goes for LP and Gambler.

But LP and Gambler are more respective of my opinion, and my presence, here.

Tell you the truth, I'm not sorry DC's here anymore. Was at a point, and that's because I wanted his respect, then. Not anymore.

Call me what you want, you don't pay my bills, and certainly don't keep me awake at night.

If he popped up being a mod again, I'd say the same fucking thing.

Respect is earned. I give as well as take. I gave mine, and got nothing.

Knock yourself out.

we each seem to have annoyed one mod ;-)

i guess for me the "ideal mod" doesn't get much rattled by personal quirks of the inmates. they just apply the rules....

i've read Suetonius in Latin and Peter Graves. in selecting this handle... i had an omaggio to Derek Jacobi's portrayal in mind: Claudius the fool, simpleton, scholar, survivor... at least until there were more important stakes than survival. ;-)

Loved the old series with Derek Jacoby.  Remember how they went classical with the title and, since there was no "u" in latin, spelled it "I Clavdivs?"

We've had our differences over my time in the box, but we do genuinely agree that DC is a great guy and was an incredible mod.  Thanks for the vote of confidence, but she & I are cool.

I wasnt slamming our current mods.  I was just really, and truly, and genuinely, missing our former mod DC.

I can say I don't have a real problem with any of the mods. GaGambler, and Little Phil do a good job on the general board. yes they have pulled a few posts of mine but that there job. I like the mods we got now. They seem as fair as I think is possible given they are human with people they like and don't like on the board.
