So where are the good places to live, if you want the casual, inexpensive life, living below the radar in another country?

Costa Rica, Mexico, the Carribean?

1) Costa del Sol, Spain. The good news is that it's the best part of Spain. The bad is that it's also the best part of England, and the Brits have been driving the housing prices up in recent years.

2) New Zealand (Auckland or Wellington). Perhaps the bast bang for the buck of all the English speaking nations.

3) Phuket, Thailand. Great beaches still (used to be awesome, now just great), very cheap cost of living.

Honorable mention: Rio, Caracas.
