Was wondering how the ladies preferred to be referred to, informally, like on this board.

Provider, hooker, escort, companion, courtesian, any others?

I suppose my natural inclination is to say hooker (in a colloquial sense) no disrespect intended.

Perhaps semantics I also notice guys refer to it as the "hobby", but if u look at it from ladies perspective not really a hobby, more like a business, vocation, or profession. A bit patriarchal I suppose.

Sometimes I think we should just use the word whore. What's so wrong with that word? Hooker is fine too.

For the most part it is used negatively.  I know, people can say we give the word the negative power but seriously, being called as asshole is never a good thing, no matter how I try and see it in a good light.

calling someone a beautiful asshole isn't quite the same thing.  I can't believe I just wasted 5 minutes trying to come up with a a way to call someone an asshole and have it sound like a positive thing.

There are just some words that are used to be nasty and that's all there is to it.

I don't like whore one bit, the negative connotation just kills it for me. I'm happy with escort, companion, courtesan... provider... but not whore. Geeze. What is the man equivalent of whore... there has to be another term "man whore" is just funny, not degrading.

who are like, "You're a whore!" Gosh really? Thank you! I would have never known that even with my naked body all over the net and rates right next to it lol.

Pretty sad. Though to me whore is a more diminutive term than hooker which to me connotes a haughty playfulness.

Like you can tease a friend and call them a dumbass because you are familiar with them and they know you don't mean anything by it. Just saying.

You can call anyone anything just so long as you follow it with Bless Their Heart.  She's a whore, bless her heart.  He's an asshole, bless his heart ...

Actually tried to think of it and dont think there is a male equivalent.

I work with a guy who always says, don't get me wrong, so and so is a great guy but.....he has syphillis and he rapes his dog....or something to that effect

i also hate the words skank and slut..only if you use them in a colloquial manner..

In email and phone conversations we call each other assholes, and fucking fuckers all the time. If someone didn't call someone an asshole or fucking fucker I would be offended as I know they are truly mad. Words only have the power you give them. Words are only as nasty as one makes them so.

Most men would be proud if they was in such demand that women pay them. You can only degrade the willing. Men are not willing to be degraded over having a strong sexual desire, or being used sexually sexually for a ladies pleasure. Now most men are less happy about paying for it and more willing to be degraded over that. "Trick" is as offensive as whore. Still some chose not to be offended by ether term. They are the smart one. No I am not quite one of them, being called a "trick" bothers me some. We all know I am a fool though.

If not or legal ramifications any and all would be fine in my book.  Some of them even turn me on.
