When they came out with the new look, I stayed with

How do people like the new user interface

what are the advantages?

I tried it and didn't like it near as much as I like the "classic TER".  Maybe it's because I'm used to the old version, but it just works better for me. I just hope they never do away with the old version.

I had started with what is now called "classic" & at first I was resistant to the change.  Eventually I gave in & prefered the NEW TER.  I like that once the flat view isselected, it does so automatically.  But I've been forced to go back to the "classic" because New KEEPS LOCKING my computer...  I have had to restart a half dozen times in 30 minutes...  One has to be really determined, to put up with these issues.  From my view point, it's a security risk.  If TER is locked up on my screen, I can't shut down quickly if someone arrives home.  DANGER, DANGER, DANGER!!!

I tried "NEW" again a couple of days ago...  TER has not fixed it.  I will not renew VIP unless this is fixed.  When I started the hobby, I promised myself I'd not do anything "stupid" & this risk is.

And like others, probably resisting change because I'm used to the old version and know how to navigate it better.  I did not really like the new one anyway.  Did not see any advantages of new one.

And I will continue as long as it is available.

I wonder if TER knows the % use of new vs classic.  Seems something they should be able to track.

Can't really say because of the opposit reason. Though a Non-Vip for awhile I finally joined up at about the same time of the change. I started using the new version from day one, really can't compare the two. I have no problem with the new it

Same here.  This is the only TER I know.  I like the look; it's modern and clean, and much classier than other similar sites.  The utility also seems fine.  When they recently changed BGFE there were a lot of complaints, too.  It now has a more similar feel to TER.  In my experience any time anyone changes anything a certain percentage of users get pissed no matter how well it's done.

I've also only used the new TER version and find it very easy to navigate.

Recently, just yesterday actually (due mostly to holiday boredom) I checked out the other site (not the "Best") IMHO. This site is much more professional and useful versus the other which (while funnier) is more of the wild west.

As another poster above mentioned, I'm sure it's all about learning how to navigate through to what you're looking for.

...It may be your computer.  I'm not enough of a computer whiz to know for sure or have an answer but you should ask the techies on this site or go to Support.  For starters, you could try running a program like AdAware, MalwareBytes or similar program that sweeps out spyware, cookies, etc. That might work.

the new TER has many page loading errors. it sometimes takes a while for links on the page to load and be functional. it's nice to have a "new look" but functionally classic still beats the new site. new TER suffers more from browser crashes that require restart.

i've used the new version enough that i've gotten used to it. i only take a refresher look at "classic" maybe once a month. classic is better.

I became VIP in October, after the new TER was already in place, so this is all I know. Unlike others, I haven't had any problems with the site... no crashing, no page load errors, no lockups. (In my experience, most of these problems are usually due to browser/OS issues; it doesn't completely rule out the site, of course, but when most people are having no problems and only a handful are, that tells me that the problem is on their end.) I've looked at the classic site out of curiosity, and to me, the new TER is much cleaner and more professional-looking. YMMV.

It is easier to follow for me. I guess if they make the change i'll follow but at the moment i'm comfortable with what has been available for the last 3 years.

They might, but what's the point? I doubt that TER invested the time and resources into creating the new site just to abandon it. I fully expect that the classic site will eventually disappear; the ones who can adapt will stay, and the ones who can't will sit on their front porches and yell at kids to keep off the lawn. :-D

When TER made the change, I hated it at first too.  Then when they fixed the board posts to mimick our classic board, I decided to give it a shot.  I have to say that I like the new version better now.  It has more features too.  I completely understand the users of the classic version.  I used it for a while intitally too.  I would say give the new version another try.  I think you might be pleasantly surprised.  Remember that anytime we have a change in our daily routine, it takes a little time to get accustomed to it.  And change is not always easy.  That being said, once you get used to the new system, you will not like the classic one anymore.  But you have to use it to learn it.  Give it a try for at least one week.  I think you will like it much better than the old setup.

Cheers!  Merry Christmas Everyone!  :)  Betty xoxo

My criticisms of the new site were many when it was introduced.  In the more private regions of the site, I was downright rude and offensive towards the intelligence of the programming staff.  To their credit, they've gone a long way to making it better.  I'm sure that at some point, they'll tire of maintaining 2 versions and the classic will slip away.  When that happens, most of the holdouts will grumble and migrate over.  Like me, a month or so in, they'll forget that there was another version.

... because I came on board at just about the time they introduced the new one. Just for laughs, I went back to look at the old site, and I was surprised at how hard it was to find things. The new site seems to have an easier navigation. It also has a much cleaner look.

The one thing I found that the old site did better was in the reviews. In the old site, there was a "Back" button at the bottom of every page. That made going from a review back to the provider's profile easier. I wonder why they did away with that?

I didn't care for the new site at first but my Droid now has flash so the new site no longer crashes on it. I also learned where everything is on the new site and they fixed most of the bugs that the new had when it was first introduced. The new TER is much better then when it was first introduced. Now I use the new one not because it is better but because I don't care so I might as use the one that is going to stick around.

...TER changed formats in 2005.  The changes weren't that dramatic as well.

I still use Classic TER too.

After you get used to it, it's six of one, half dozen of another for the most part.  Sooner or later, TER is going to pull the plug on the Classic version, so might as well get used to the new interface now.  BTW, Classic TER is not the original interface...when it updated the earlier version back in 2005, members complained about it then as well.

I don't think we'll be seeing a TER app for either, at least not one that is sanctioned by the parent companies.  I wish they'd have a Droid app as well, but alas...
