I work with some blue collar guys who, at $40+/hr are making more than I am.  She just might be pricing herself into their market, rather than out.  What a delicious irony that would be.

But, she's at liberty to indulge any prejudices she has, and that's her business.

White collar types might have cleaner fingernails, it's true, but there's more to being a person than that.

If you have to call yourself upscale or state that you cater to upscale clientele - you probably aren't, don't and are not capable of appealing to the market that you're so desperately trying to crack.

Its called "try-too-hard" syndrome and not one legitimate HDH babe I personally know suffers from it.

You can appeal to whatever demographic you wish and strategize however you please without insulting an entire group of clients, in this case "blue collar" workers.

The rate increase is a statement within itself.
There is little need to take a swipe at the market that previously paid your bills.

I think a little class and a little grace count for a lot.

I'm not a blue collar myself, I wear a t-shirt to work so I'm a no-collar. But when the reason for raising rates is "primarily" to rule out the blue collar boys, it seems a little... well I don't know, a tad controversial not to mention obviously too prejudiced.  

Then again, maybe that's the reality. I mean, we all know that majority of ladies consider themselves upscale (even when they book at shitty hotels) and wish to restrict their clients to a more affluent and successful crowd. Therefore, it's no surprise a lady wishes to portray herself and cater to that market. However, to make this as blunt and obvious to others doesn't seem like a good idea.

Especially when letting that 'agenda' be known to other hobbyists. Some may post about that rate raise along with her reasons on a public board. There are obviously "blue collar guys" who read that and, not surprisingly, weren't too happy, have even posted some nasty juicy stuff about her that he shouldn't have.  The thread has disappeared so I can't provide a link but you can use your imagination as to what he might have said.

Don't buy it for an instant. It is an excuse to raise her rates. Trying to make herself look more upscale.

In actuality, it shows she lacks class.

and i think that it is good that the thread has been pulled. i did not participate on that sub-thread when it was up but have a few comments to make now that it is escalating to here. i only met the lady in question socially and then only once. i have reasons for not requesting an appointment with her that are irrelevant. anyway i have no interests at stake.

1) unless the lady herself expresses the reason for her rate increase and change in marketing,  third party reports are just gossip and not to be assumed to be true. they might be motivated by an annoyed client who was not retained. the timing of the social event where i met her coincided with her change in business plans. "weeding out" blue collar types didn't factor into it.

2) the "jiucy stuff" about her background, even if true, was in extremely poor taste and unfit for posting. her comportment during our conversation was quite refined.

on the basis of my limited experience with this particular lately (~30 minute chat over cocktails) i think the issue with regard to her was BS and pay it no mind.

while i am not a fan of either American style "classism" or the Indian caste system, the fact is that businesses have target demographics. any person in this business (client or provider) has the right to target a demographic that appeals to their model for conducting "the biz".

so to get back to the particular lady: the pulled thread read to me like a bunch of guys whining about getting dropped.

Don't mean to sound so discouraging. But, they are independent workers most of the times, excluding agencies. Even if they work for agencies, they can set their own prices most of the times. The intentions of the providers to raise their rates is to not discriminate against blue collar workers. So, its not social stratification by any means.

They raise their rates to better enable themselves. Some providers will charge a the mid point, and when they build a reputation for themselves, they can gradually increase their rates. I mean, I think she would prefer seeing a limited number of guys and make the equivalent money than seeing multiple guys in a day.

I don't know what you mean by labeling providers upscale and then they book one star hotel. First, an upscale provider IMO ranges from $300-$400 on an average. And, none of my experience with the ladies from these price ranges booked one star hotels. The ladies in these price ranges that I have seen has booked very upscale hotels.

Again, I don't think they do it intentionally to exclude blue collar workers. You have to think about them, they are doing it for themselves, and for nobody else. Although their intentions is to not discriminate against other hobbyist base on income, they just want to move up on the latter. You know what I mean.

Sounds like she's trying to make more by fucking less.  Some guys will appreciate not being dick #10 of the day and others will be upset that she's too expensive.  Hyundai sells more cars than Mercedes, and customers of both are happy about it.  Despite Oliver Stone being a total douche, his movie line was indeed correct.  Greed is good.

It's always entertaining to see a gal post up what she claims is "personal information" about herself.  What's even more entertaining is the number of guys who actually believe it

it's her business the way she chooses to run her business. If she feels justified in her product and she can deliver to the expectations of those that she's requesting business from then so be it. But what baffles me is how chicks think the higher the sticker price is on their ass, then they're invincible to the work that is truly invovled. You guys aren't stupid by any means and paying more doesn't mean your gonna get more! Just to know a chick is excluding a "certain" type of person that she perceives can't comfortably afford her isn't going to make her phone ring! I know plenty of wealthy guys that prefer a reasonably priced experience several times a month compared to a high sticker one. Like I told my girlfriend, a local whore with no profit LOL!, it really doesn't matter what you want you want to call yourself or how much you think you could charge per hour, if you get busted, you'll be sitting in the jail cell right next to the $40 streetwalker!

If a provider's rates are 200HH, 300HR, 550 TWOHR, and she sees thats she can make more money, & gets to see less clients by charging 400HH, 500HR, 900 TWOHR, then it's her right too, and pretty damn smart if I may say.  It's called advancing yourself, and not staying at the same level for years and years in your profession.

Would you stay living in an apartment for the rest of your life, when you can move into a single family home, just so people in your community, wont think you're stuck up?

Would you not take a promotion, and raise on your job, just so your co-workers wont think you're a brown nosier?

Would you stay driving a Ford escort, when you can clearly own a Lexus, just so people wont think you're materalistic?

In American we're all about moving forward, and upscaling, If you really want to see this particular provider, just save the 600 you'd spend on a two one hour sessions with someone in your price range, and go see her for an hour, and leave a tip.

I don't think it is a wise business decision all the mongers I know are blue collar workers. The lady is free to market her self how every she likes, and good for her if that works.

In my personal opinion it is stupid to rule out blue collar guys just because you think white collar guys are "higher end." I personally know a lot of blue collar guys that make 80000 to 120000 a year, and some white collar guys who make 25000. (kind of along the lines of what MrFisher said above). Bottom line, she can do what she wants, and guys are free to be offended or not, and to see her or not.

for her to do it at all. I myself charged more for pse bout 8 months ago. because at that time i wasnt really interested in doing it so. I made it si high that it was worth it for me if theyd pay that rate. and many did. I have quiite a bit preparing nessisary for it and at time i just wasnt as pumped bout pse.
