He's a salesman, and salemen love to tell stories to entertain their clients.  The problem is that they are just that, stories.

If that hooker on the plane did exist, my guess is that she was going to try and roll him a la George Costanza in Seinfeld.

Why would a hooker tell some guy on a flight, that she is in fact a hooker?

Then he was creeped out by it

She is more than free to out herself if she likes, can't fault her for that, but bragging about and naming a high profile client is beyond indiscreet. Talk about a hooktard.

After all, there can't be many business travlers who don't see escorts.

Hooktard is right!

It would be one thing had she just said, "I went to Dallas to pose as a trophy for some guy," and stop at that but to say EXACTLY who it was? Idiot. I would be embarrassed to go shouting what I do to anyone. It's not exactly a respected profession, even by many men who partake.

indiscreet, yes, but she's free to talk about what she does. Many get nervous on planes, and some get chatty, and give TMI when nervous. She didn't out her client, there are many conventions in Dallas going on at any time. I once had a newly wed bride grab my leg because she was nervous, and her husband was sitting on the other side. Neither had flown before, and we hit a bit of turbulance...

Mine, that is, not his.  Although his BS detector should have gone off.  He's either making that story up or the woman was pulling his leg (and maybe hoping to pull on the shorter third one).  I actually vote for the latter.  He probably bragged about being a writer before she sprung that story on him.
