So I created a thread awhile back about doing TER at work and I just realized that I had the solution all along. This will only work if you have a pc at home that your SO is NOT using and you have a work laptop. Will probably work well with singles in this case.

There is a software called Team Viewer. This is a remote desktop program. Essentially, you create an account. You install the software to two computers and you register both of them under your account with a click of a button. Then you leave the computer logged on to Team Viewer at home (hence the no SO requirement) and log on to your other work machine at work. You can then create remote desktop access from your work laptop to your home computer, without having to be physically at your house to accept the connection (since both computers are registered under your own account and this is the sole benefit of the program). This remote access to your home computer allows you to use your home computer on your work laptop, as if you were sitting in front of the home computer. The individual web access will be done by your home computer and the only access that your work internet will register is the Team Viewer access. Hence, the IT guy will have no idea what went on at the other side of the internet line.

The internet access will be slow so you cannot watch any video content. Because TER is text based with occasional pictures, the speed will be fast enough for you to browse and type all that stuff.

Just make sure no one behind you is looking over your shoulder! Happy wasting time at work.

Team Viewer is widely used to transfer files between two computers. Say you were working on your spreadsheet at home with your desktop. Then you come to work, only to realize you need those excel files for the board meeting. BAM. Team Viewer has the function to transfer even files between computers registered under your account.

Some also use for IT diagnostics and virtual machine/server diagnostic.

Any IT infrastructure worth it's salt will have firewalls blocking any unauthorized RDP or VPN access to an external host. Just buy a data plan for your smartphone and browse TER that way, like I am right now.

Ay! In case your phone runs outta battery. LOL

But this will work depending on the structure. Sure.

I mean seriously, what professional job allows you to bring your own computer to play on during work hours....I can see on the lunch break of course. If you are using the actual computer at work, no software you install will go undetected. Most companies monitor your internet access, which sites you visit, and would notice another program that was installed. I just think you need to wait til you get back to the dorm to play on TER. You're asking for trouble.

Yes yes. Well different people have different job setting. This may not work at the NYSE trading floor but could at some other places. But besides that I just bring my own laptop and use both the given one and mine. They don't seem to care...

But either way I have been using it like that. And even when I am staying at my hotel, I access as such. My IP address to access TER is in a completely different country therefore lol.

I work for a large company and we have firewalls, they monitor website usage, and everyone but IT folks are banned from loading software onto the computers. Bringing in your own laptop is possible but not well looked upon. Besides, how are you going to get access to the Internet? Wifi access is restricted so you are left with cellular which you then might as well be on a smartphone like I'm on now.

Keep the ideas coming though, as it might work for some people and who knows what people will come up with next.

I work nites and my boss is not there.
I take my lap-top and use it occasionally at work.
I have alot of studying to do to keep my health-care license.
But, if your using it for porn or TER, i would be very cautious. Not worth the risk.

Won't the company's IT department find out about the software loaded on the company computer and get nosey over that?

I worked as a volunteer coordinator as a city employee. My boss hated the fact that I brought my laptop with me. I am a graphic artist, but of course they weren't paying me as a graphic artist, just happy to use me for my talents for free. I had Adobe CS2 loaded on my laptop and used it all the time. At the same time, the work computers were so restricted as to what websites I could visit, and so slow with lack of video and regular RAM that they were practically worthless to me.

Anyway, she told me she didn't want me using my laptop and I told her to stuff it. There is power in not needing a job too badly

I don't know why you are toeing that fine line of keeping your job and losing your job.

I've worked in IT departments that have proxy and VPN so locked down that you need to have a certain level of security and permissions to get that kind of access.

On top of that, many of the top of the line IT departments will have functions disabling any software being installed without IT's expressed approval.

Since you are doing this on your own accord, expect to be fired at some point in time. It may be soon or down the road... someone will wise up and found out what you are doing on company time.

On that note... I just lost my job earlier this week due to a regular provider from TER outing my real name on a blacklist website. The irony of this is that 2 weeks ago, I got an excellent semi-annual performance review. That didn't stop the company from firing me over something that I had ZERO control over. I NEVER even met the provider in person. Go figure.

Beware of attempting to use this method to view adult material at work! There are a NUMBER of problems here, and some of this has to do with how sophisticated your in-house IT people are. About two years ago I helped a business overcome this same issue, where employees were using GotoMyPC in the same fashion.

1. Many IT depts block local installs on their PC's and laptops (so you can't install the software)
2. Good luck plugging your own laptop into the company network (they will block it)
3. You can't clone your work IP (the network will detect your MAC address)

Now, even if you DO get past those obstacles and get onto your work network:

4. I installed frame capture software on the laptops which grab activity and send it to a server for logging
5. I installed software on the server that looks for activity from remote tethering softwares like GotoMyPC and it logs all activity
6. You can't use an SSL connection to hide your activity, since I've installed software on the firewall or internal proxies which will decrypt your HTTPS packets and log them, then re-encrypt them before sending.

So, as I've stated before, the only TRUELY safe way to surf adult sites at work is on your own, personal smartphone with internet access. Otherwise, you are putting your job on the line.

With the rising costs of technology and people's technology preferences varying more and more daily a lot of companies are offering BYOD (bring your own device) plans to employees. I have employees that use their personal laptops and phones. However, they install the software we require and their devices are monitored by our tools, so it's a tradeoff.

While on our network in the office, the internet is fairly restricted due to firewall rules and content filters. However, on their own network (whether it's MyFi or Wi-Fi) internet traffic is generally unfiltered.

This provider is well known on the TER forums. She is also well reviewed on TER. So, if I were to mention her name, all of her white knights will blast me to smithereens.

Asking her to remove my REAL name from the blacklist is like talking to a brick wall. Nothing will happen and she doesn't care if she ruined my name. She relishes in doing stuff like this.

Why am I so calm?

Simple answer... what in the fook am I supposed to do about it? I don't have tons of money to lawyer up and get my name removed. I know all about that case where the guy won the case against the blacklist website. Do you realize that it takes legal action just to get your name removed? Aren't there any non-legal recourse to get your name removed from those blacklist websites? None that I have seen.

It works because

The desktop they have, I have to log in. And the IT guys have all the access.

But there is a separate ethernet cord which I can use for my laptop. It does not require any logging in or password. It is an open network.

And I install the software in my private laptop.

There are some stuff I must have missed. But either way, my work load is finally catching up on me and it seems like I won't have much time for TER anyways.

NBL will not remove reports even if the author requests it. Only if he can prove She lied and about more than just the date/place you are screwed for life on that site.

If she really did this, you owe it to the community to warn us away from her.  Sorry you lost your job though.  How did she even get your personal info to post on a BL site?  You should reveal that as well so others will know what not to do.
