...what may be the reality behind her blurry face than I am of any nearby policemen.
Had an incall appointment with a provider in town earlier this afternoon. I live in a large city in the midwest. Spoke to the agency earlier this morning (they called me to verify) and everything was a go.
Arrived at the incall location in the city about 10 minutes early. Decided to walk around the block to kill time. Circled around in front of the appointment's address, in front of which there was a woman sitting in the driver's seat of a black sedan primping in the rear-view mirror. OK... walked about 150 feet to the original corner and now there's a city cop sitting there, engine idling, and parked at the curb. Wasn't there the first time I walked by! Walked around the area (but didn't pass the cop again) for about 15 more minutes -- everytime I looked at the corner in question, the cop was still there. By this time, was spooked, so I bailed. Of course, I got about two voicemails from the agency over the next 10 minutes, but I blew them off -- I was pretty unnerved about that cop just "happening" show up right down the street from my appt. and remaining parked there for 15+ minutes. I felt horrible about bailing, but better safe than sorry, I figured.
SO, was I being overly paranoid? Any other hobbyists ever bail on an incall location that just didn't "feel right"? Thanks all!!
A city cop sitting in front of your appt. location? Hard to believe he's part of a sting or anything as he's not very undercover! Nothing a quick call to the agency couldn't set your mind at ease as I doubt the agency is setting you up with a black & white out front. I think you bailed on your girl and agency isn't happy.
you can't have fun worrying about a cop car outside.
I always go with my gut feelings. Serves me well.
I thimk the only thing you did wrong was not explain why you canceled to the agency. If you want to see one of their ladies again it may be a problem.
If the cop was in plain sight, and in a marked car, surveillance was unlikely. They would normally be in an unmarked car, and in the distance.
It was already mentioned that you should have called the agency. You should have done so after you were out of the area. You need to call them and explain.
I always try to arrive a few minutes early and give the area a quick check. On a couple of occasions when I saw something that made me suspicious, I called the agency and told them what I saw. In each case, they said not to worry, but seemed to appreciate that Id called to give them a heads up.
But the bottom line is that if youre suspicious, bail and let the provider/agency know immediately, or as soon as youre clear of the area.
I think you should have called. Not only to explain, but also to warn the agency. Always go with the gut on bailing.
Good luck
You might now be on the agency's No Show No Call list. I would call and explain. Otherwise your name will probably passed on to other agencies and you would have to move or start dating civies.
Regardless, always go with the gut. But, I have met with ladies when cops were outside the hotel, but this was in NYC, and my thinking was that they had other business to concern themselves with, and that thinking has always proven to be true. Now, if this happened in the 'burbs where LE's presence might be more suspect, I might have done what you did. And, I would have called her or the agency ASAP to let them know of LE's presence, and that this why you bailed. Your blowing off their calls makes your meeting a NCNS in their eyes, and that's uncool in it's own right...
I'd have left too. It's better to be a little overly paranoid than to be locked up.

Usually when the fuzz sets up a sting, they not only have a policeman sitting in plain sight, they usually also have a big banner that says "Its Bust-A-John Day" on it. When they are really feeling festive, they hire a 40 piece band to play The Imperial March from Star Wars every time they lead some poor schmuck out in handcuffs.
Yes, you were being paranoid. One cop sitting on a corner is not how a sting is usually run. They HIDE when they are planning on busting you. I don't blame you for your nervousness, but the least you could have done was let the agency know that you chicked out because Barney Fife was sitting his car having a donut.
I agree, Sins...
BUT...
When I am in that particular situation, as it is happening, I bail. As I drive away I may realize that I over-reacted.
I don't leave anything to chance in this game. There's no reason to.
I was arriving at a provider's incall one day when ... I noticed a patrol car cruising the parking lot. It made me a little nervous but I was very horny so I called the provider anyway, got her room number and went up.
As I entered the room, she was on the phone and looking very agitated. In the midst of her conversation she stopped looked at me and said, "How long do you expect this to take?" to which I replied, "It usually takes about an hour."
She looked even more frustrated and wanted to know if I could wait because she had to go down and talk to the hotel management.
I inquired as to why and she said apparently there had been some kind of theft at the motel, the management had called the police and wanted her to come down and sort it out because they thought she might be involved.
To my utter amazement, shock and disbelief, I realize that she was asking me to wait in her room while she went down to talk to the police and management about a possible robbery.
I wasn't horny anymore. The next thing she saw was OFF hauling ass!!!!

that would have been scary. I'm with you on that one, OFF, I'd have hauled ass (mine) outta there too. WOW!
Swim
and the place was swarming with State Police.
I enquired of a bell hop what was going on and he said that some foreign dignatary was staying there for the graduation of their kid from a nearby college, so I wasn't spooked about it.
I mean, I think they probably could have brought me down with only a handful of troopers, not the entire barracks.
...if you called and told the agency what was going down, would you still be on their NS list?
If you've been hobbying for any time period you're going to run into situations where the fuzz are in the vicinity. I agree the likelihood you're up for a bust with a black-and-white out front is probably very small. On the otherhand, as so many have pointed out, always take that "gut check" and go with it.
I recently had an appt with a traveler and the local fuzz drove by and he gave me a real visual going over. I thought it was kinda creepy. I'm not sure if the fuzz make a habit of driving by hobby-havens but I must admit, it scared me. I gave it the gut check and I went ahead and everything was fine.
What I have done now is to simply ask the ladies what their cancellation or NS policy is. I think it levels the playing field.
My 0.02 FWIW
I guess it would depend... but if YOU were really creaped out, How could you have a good time? Holy Performance Anxiety!
However I have to agree, that the lady/agency should have been informed. "Hey, there's a Black & White that keeps circling the lot & is giving me the creaps!" If there was LE activity going on, it might help the lady out and at the very least keep you off the NCNS list.
Especially if you were not just being paranoid. Let's suppose for the moment it was a set up(unlikely as that is)how about the provider and the next poor schmuck that shows up? Unless you think the agency was complicit in the set up you owe them not only an explanation for the no show,IMO you also owe them an apology for your selfishness.
Actions like yours are what give other hobbyists a bad name. Shame on you.
Thanks to all for your input. I emailed the agency last night with both a profuse apology and a detailed explanation (didn't have my cell phone handy at the time of the walk around).
I was just thinking about my first hotel incall. I was locking my car when the Black & White cruised by giving me the hairy eye ball. I went in anyway & let the provider know. Our next meeting was elsewhere.
Cops often cruise parking lots & check for folks breaking into vehicles. If you act like you belong, no problem... just don't flash a slim jim!

I just never imagined anyone walking around without their cellphone. I guess alls well, that ends well.
Once Sexy Maddy was staying at a very nice upscale location in the South.
I had booked the place for 2 days.
I checked in left to grab a bite and returned an hour or so later. I am like HUMMMM.
Pulling into the parking lot I observe cop cars galore
I walk into the lobby and their are like 50 cops standing around. Do you think I got scared, H E Double LL yes I sure did but what could I do?
These police were from various departments, sheriff, state and local and also had their dogs with them. They took up all the room in the lobby and when maddy walked in all eyes were on me. Probably because I am a sexy looking women but that is not what I was thinking. I almost passed out. I had to walk through the cops. It was like parting the red sea. I said excuse me and kept on walking. When I got to the elevator like 5 of the cops in uniform were right behind me. I asked them what was up? they said a dog trainging convention. smile
I had an appointment on the way.
I called him and let him know that he would be surrounded upon arrival.
I explained and he arrived we had fun.
Me and the cops shared that hotel for my whole tour.
I did feel safe though.
maddy
at their incall locations and either a neighbor's driveway had a patrol car parked there (actually lives there so I was told) or parked out front of the apt. building (no one in the car).
I agree that you have to go with your gut. I would make a phone call to see if the lady knew about the LE pressence.
Hey better to be having this discussion over the net, than with your cell mates. sure the agency might put a black mark on your number. but is sure does beat a crimonal record. trust me it happens. it part of business. they have to account for flakes or no shows. now if the girl haad pic on webiste nad that was the same girl, setup possibly. or could be a dumb cop in the wrong place at the wrong time. better to be free and remorse, than locked up and have regrets.
