TER General Board
I'm a man slut who isn't willing to live with anyone at the moment.
I'm willing to pay up front for better sex, with better looking women than would generally play with me.
I even make real friendships with some of the women. And every now and then, something wonderful and deeper happens.
I had a great session last weekend with a beautiful, sweet, intelligent provider. Not only did we have a great, mutually satisfying (or so I was led to believe) sexual experience, we also talked quite a bit before and after. We joked, we laughed, we *connected*. I've seen dozens of providers over the years, and while all my sessions haven't been at the same level, *all* of them been like that to one degree or another. All of them have been very . . . human. That's how I see this hobby, as something very human. The biological need that drives me to book a session is just as human as the non-sexual connection the provider and I make along the way. In a way, it's beautiful. Poetic.
And yet what does the vast majority of the public think of the hobby? That she is a some kind of sex slave who has been "trafficked" against her will, and I'm somehow oppressing her. It's like I'm standing under a bright blue sky and everyone around me is complaining that it's raining.
I don't really have a larger point to maker here. I just think the incongruity between the reality of this hobby and the perception of it is really sad, and it bothers me a bit when I stop to think about it.
You make a point, but this could also be a fish in water situation.
Two thing that I find interesting about TER are:
1) The slogan, "Will she?"
2) You can only search for female escorts (or TS - transitioning to female), but no option to search for male escorts.
These are simply observations, but I do wonder a bit about TER's "refusal" to also cater to women who are seeking a male companion for an evening (and would like similar benefits in navigating that process).
Oppression is an interesting concept, and it manifests on both a conscious/ and unconscious level.
I'm definitely a staunch supporter of the SW plight, but I do sometimes wonder about the historical context of SW, and how SW has primarily been a position associated with the female (male/ female dynamics).
Of course, not really looking to get into the politics of it all, or stirring controversy...but, there may be some naivete related to your post.
I like the point you bring up about TER not catering to women looking for companionship. As a provider, I find it easier to not have a relationship for a myriad of reasons. Because of this, I have actually looked more than once in the bowels of the internet for a male companion for hire. I guess the hedonist in me wanted to be "serviced" for a change. I got a big taste of what some you may go through when thinking of booking a provider. I got terrified at the thought of just inviting some stranger over off the internet. Sooooo many questions, and it was expensive! Then I checked the hook-up site and got grossed. In frustration I just grabbed my vibrator and headed upstairs. BOB is my main guy.... It would be great if we had a review site for women seeking men. I have even thought of swinger parties but Im still kinds fussy about who touches me. I could probably easily pick up a guy in a bar except Im not the pick up a guy in a bar kinda gal. Also I dont want to talk or worry about if he will call the next day which is why I kinda like the clean break after a paid session. We all know we are here for a good time not a long time. Honestly the best times I have are with clients. No games and all the cards are on the table. When I think about trying to date it give me distress. As a provider I have secrets, your secrets to keep. Back to BOB He cleans up well every time. As far as my providing experience goes, Im only considered "half a Hooker" according to all you here. So my dirty deeds are easily contained with a good washing of my hands. I take care of you and then find myself running back to BOB for some relief. I mean, Im only human.
Bluto, love your daily photo attachments, keep em comin
...keep on cumming? With these two it isn't an option. 😎
The incongruity you described exists largely because of a narrative vacuum. A substantial number of hooker daters need to hide it for one reason or another. They can't openly share the same positive impressions that you just did...So all the despair and angst about prostitution is allowed to circulate unchecked, and America's collective conscience on the issue remains what it is.
Most of the "regular folks" outside of p4p believe that it's evil in one way or another -- take your pick of reasons.
For those of us in it, we all have our own manifold reasons for participation but I will say that some of the most fun, well-rounded (pun intended!), strong and intelligent humans I've ever met have been p4p denizens -- and some of them have been fellow pooners! M&Gs are fun for a lot of reasons --
There is a downside to having a number of lovely women to play with and we get to enjoy exactly what we want to enjoy -- it's kinds spoiled the prospects of civvie dating for me. The thought of putting all that time, effort and money into the process and then find out she's just not that interested in the physical side of things? Or doing so and things flame out after a few months? Makes it more difficult as time goes by --
Ah well, off to have another session with one of my faves tomorrow

It works well for me. It works well for them.
I wish the rest of the world would butt out of this, but it's not the case.
They can fuck off
The perception is driven by politicians seeking votes by any means, lawyers who make huge amounts of money on both sides of prosecuting escorts, and other such scum of the earth.

Those of us in TER world tend to see only the high or upper end of this hobby as we call it. Unfortunately there is a much more sordid underbelly, which does include trafficking, sex slavery, etc. When we are enjoying the sexual favors of a nice clean young lady in the clean sheets of our local Hilton, there is a young woman in a sleezy cheap motel being held captive by a ruthless pimp or organized gang and forced to service numerous guys a day.
I don't think what we do has anything to do with the other, but the efforts to suppress one, has an effect on the other. JMO
