Prostitution being illegal in U.S.A is the most ridiculous thing in the western world.

I just made an appointment with a young lady and it just occurred to me (again) how ridiculous it is that this meeting between us will be illegal. If I take her out to dinner and to a concert and then to my place and have sex that's OK, but if I give her the money to go to dinner and a concert and we have sex, we both have committed a crime. In this Capitalist, free-enterprise nation, two consenting adults indulging in what otherwise is a legal activity are made criminals by an anti-market and anti-business law that if enforced will create unemployment and add to the poverty rate. I don't know what is to be commented on here, but still thought I'd say it.

And then you don't have to vent

Squeaky wheel gets the grease in life. A minority, when loud an annoying, will get their way. Working girls are illegal based solely on the opinions of a few religious nutbags. It will take courage for a politician to stand up in front of everybody else to make it legal once more...

I always hope Prostitution is legal in the US, because it is legal in Canada, Europe, and other countries.
And thank God it's legal in some parts of Nevada.  So, all's not lost.  

But the conservatives who don't approve of abortion caused by rape, or think women can't get pregnant during rape, and other stupid crap they spew ... we'd be regressing back to Witch hunting and hanging girls of free-spirit.

Being ilegal is not bad for the economy. We the People are the economy.

We could name several examples on both sides but the one that is relevant here is the fantasy that we could vote for people who claim they are for a stricter enforcement of such laaws and this will somehow make it more likely that it will be legalized.   Not sure how that will work but it is nothing new.

I recently went to my local adult book store, and it was difficult to get in the parking lot because there was a church group picketing on the sidewalk. After they parted and let me in the parking lot I parked and when I was getting out of my car to go in, the women that were in the picket line were yelling at me, calling me a pervert and such. So, I hollered back and said "what's the alternative, you", they shut up. They were all old and ugly. The reason I bring this up is that those same people are the ones that don't want prostitution leagalized because if it was they would lose what very little demand there is for them.

I've always felt this way, don't impose your integrity on me and I'll afford you the same respect.

The only reason it is illegal is 1)because society as a majority thinks of this as immoral & 2)they cannot mandate it(tax reasons). If they used their brains for one second, they would realize that the national debt could be paid off in one, two years TOPS, just from the taxes on this. Many ladies are smart enough to pay taxes on what they do... but many more do not.

Why can I sit in my house and get falling down drunk on alcohol but I can't smoke a little well grown and fully characterized marijuana.
Why can I prescribe the heaviest pain relieving drugs available with all their side effects but not some medical marijuana with far fewer side effects.
Why are we still discussing the legal marriage of two gay people when it should never have even been an issue.
Why do many transgender people have trouble getting legal ID and passports because they are now genders different from what is on their birth certificate.
Why can't I now buy a large soft drink in New York City.
Why are state legislatures allowed to Gerrymander congressional districts to assure victory for the party in power for the next ten years.
Why do we have a greater percentage of our citizens in jail than any other country on the face of the Earth.
To be obvious, why have many state legislatures passed laws recently requiring women wanting an abortion to have ultra sounds of their fetuses first with no medical reason what so ever.
And why are we now drugging such a large percentage of our young children to help them conform to early education standards that do not reflect those which necessarily lead to successful lives.  (I speak as a former child who spent many hours in the principals office for arguing with my 3rd and 4th and 5th grade teachers.  Today I would have been "treated into being calmer" and real geniuses like Picasso and Larry David would have been drugged and made malleable enough so they could have had respectable jobs.)

If they were smart they would legalize it and tax it.  They can tax the girl with income tax at 20-30% which would net $10 - $30 per hundred.  It would make it safer cause the evil pimps can go away.  The girls would just have to worry about paying taxes not getting robbed by the pimps.  And the pimps would stop robbing and beating customers.

You would need to bring a contract saying you are paying her to star in a sex tape with you.  Once it is signed you are paying her for her acting skills.

Society's attitude to this is changing.  The only question is how quick.  Look how many sites are out there now on this, how many sites and news program are coming up with sugar babies etc.
It doesn't matter who we elect now, until the majority of the people are ready.  Politician will always pander and pass laws they think their voters want.  So the voter must want it and accept it first.
So just like alcohol and porn, people when many of the people who vote have experienced it, they will accept it more and the politician will pander and pass the laws then.

I base that on how many newbies post about being paranoid about getting caught.

Most of these guys probably get their wild stuff done with affairs with people they find at bars, or at the office, or where ever.  That is all legal, but in my opinion a lot riskier for many reasons.

In any case, that aspect of the hobby is not what floats my boat.
