1) and wanted to be as accurate as possible, would you say that in San Diego (I wanted to say CA, but too big, and who could guess)
the population consists mostly of single (not married) people or married?

I think single. I have actually worked for two different companies and realized one day that everyone on the entire FLOOR was single! As a matter of fact, in one company, the entire floor (except one) consisted of only single women, all over the age of 35.

2) On top of that, have you noticed, maybe more or less than you might've thought, a larger number of single-never-been-married individuals over the age of 35?

3) And, lastly, how do you think CA compares with other states? If you had to guess, would you say that CA is the state with the largest number of single people? Which state would you think had the largest ratio difference of married to single? Some place cold like Maine? LOL!

I really think that in CA, we are 'culturally' very different relationship-wise than other states, which I think are more family, and marriage minded. What do you think?

I think I want to know where the "floor-full" of single 35+ women exists...Sounds like heaven to me.

Do you think that would be successful? I would love to visit NY at some time, but would love for it to a success, of course.

(I hear these nightmares of touring ladies who've had mostly cancellations..and that's my concern)

To be TOTALLY accurate, demographics would tell us that most of the population of CA, San Diego or even the US is single. But that is because I am including children and adolescents. :)

But anyway...

For adults, I would suspect that the demographics would paint a much more complex picture, but with less married than "legally" unattached population.

The reason people are staying single longer is two fold. They live longer, and they use that longer lifespan to build a more secure and stable economic base to have a family. Women though should be careful about this if they are considering children. These cultural issues have NO effect on a woman's ability to conceive. Older women have a much harder time conceiving and have higher congenital defect risks. the idea "You can have it all, baby"  is a myth.

I agree with you that the Best Coast would have a higher single population than say  the "Good ole South." I suspect the weather climate it not the significant item, but rather the cultural climate, such as Christian fundamentalism, economic reasons and peer pressure that would account for a higher marrried/single ratio. Financial being the most important one. And the South is stil comparitively poor compared to CA and NY.

here in NY...

Sedona...I'm afraid the California girl in you would need a lot more warmth than blankets can supply...lol...but not to worry...
Plenty of red hot man heat in the big apple to keep you warm though.Go East young lady!

As for the no show incidents...from what I read it sounds like an isolated incident involving a BBW from Boston who was duped by some very young moron acting alone.

Cheers!

That's a good time to visit.  I think most of the girls who visit don't experience an abnormally high incidence of no shows.  There's a number of ladies who come to NY on a regular basis.  They could probably provide the best insight for you.

I know that personally, I see nearly as many visiting providers as NY-based providers.

Ah, but retirement tends to occur in southern climates -- including CA -- and death tends to hit males first.  I suspect that you will find the highest ratio of women to men in those parts of the country that are rural (young people have left) or retirement destinations.

From what I have observed marriage and family are bigger in the fly-over states because they don't have the life style options that we have in Cal. A recent visit to Ohio was heartwarming in the sense of the "traditional family values" I saw but then again they rolled up the sidewalks and turned off the street lights by 8pm. Morbid obesity was a very popular sport there too I might add(please no flames it's only an observation).
I think "options" is the key word here. In California we have nothing but options. You can be surfing at 6am in Huntington Beach and then be snow skiing in Big Bear by noon. you can be straight, bi-curious, bi, gay, lesbian, pre or post-op TranSexual, anything you want and there is a community to support it. We have some of the most affluent communities in the country if not the world and if anything creates options; Money does.
If you live in a fly-over State, in a small town or city where there are maybe 3 or less major industries going on then there usually isn't much else to do but pair up, get married, make babies and statisticly speaking probably end up on a domestic violence police report.(you were expecting optimism from ME??)

When I lived in California: San Diego, Long Beach, and San Jose I no trouble in regular dating, probably because of what was said about many singles. As far as Seattle is concerned were I live now but will get the flock out of here soon it sucks. Number 1, This state I believe beats the national average in divorce wich is about 50% by at least another 10 IMHO. It seems that every were you go you can see that post wedding ring tanline. 2, this city Sucks royaly if you like dating a lot, the people up here are just too darn standoffish and eccentric.

I am pretty sure that many regulars who post here are New Yorker (myself included).  That ought to add up to enough to keep you busy and entertained for a few days at least...what kind of restaurants do you like?  TIming is everything though as I travel much, just not to SD for some reason but let me work on that too!
