once upon a time i might have been a better fit to one of the categories. time, and some experiences of various sorts, have made those categories completely irrelevant. with current favorites there is no need for fantasy. it is what it is and it is better than ever.

Don't fit in any of his categories... I "hobby" because it is easier on the psyche, budget, and liver than cruising bars and other established "meat markets"...

Just finished reading "The State of Sex: Tourism, Sex, and Sin in the New American Heartland" by a group of female sociologists examining legal brothels in Nevada and thier findings and interpretation pretty much refute this author's allegations as to the impact of prostitution on women as well. For anyone interested the book is available for purchase or rent in Kindle format from Amazon.

While I think the article has a few valid points,  I think the majority of it is BS.  Some woman love sex just as much as men do,  and actually enjoy providing.  I myself love getting dolled up and satisfying men.  Somebody should write this gentlemen and tell him he needs to do more research before he writes a article about hobbying and prostitution.

The author's premise that you have to have some sort of psychological malfunction to see an escort is misguided, narrow minded, and doesn't match with the experience of thousands of guys on TER.  And for that matter, thousands of escorts too.

There is an overwhelming bias in academia that anyone involved in commercial sex work, or anyone that sees a commercial sex worker, has to have something seriously wrong with them.  How laughable, but yet, that is the prevailing paradigm.  It is the absurdity of that premise that we're commenting on, not the fact that OSP shared the article with us.
