Question, especially for those with a little more life experience under their belt......

If you could choose your ideal long term "relationship/s" scenario what would it be and why?

1. Single with casual/paid for sex.
2. A series of girlfriends and sex on the side.
3. A series of monogomous girlfriend relationships.
4. A girlfriend with an open relationship.
5. A monogomous marriage.
6. Married with sex on the side.
7. Married with an open relationship.
8. Other?

What do you think would take for your choice to work? As for me, I am hoping for 7 but how to make that work, well that is another thing......

#5 monogamous marriage (or SO).

  call me an unrealistic romantic, but a mutually honest, passionate, intimate, loving, monogamous relationship would be my ideal situation.

  I think its why I don't hobby when I'm in a relationship.

#4 would be the best one. I had that type once. I would get turned on when she would tell me stories of her trysts. She would also get turned on when I did the same. We had the best of everything; casual sex, the emotional attachment to truly enjoy each other, and an understanding that sex was sex.

Alas, not everything lasts forever and if that could be found again, I would jump through a ring of fire for it.

Being a slave to my desires sucks!

Because its all I ever really wanted. Sometimes the home fires just go out and never rekindle. Hobbying is fun, but its not as fun as a great marriage.

My wife was a great lover but time for her just took it's toll.  We've been through all the counselors, therapists but she just has hangups that, coupled with time, result in no interest in sex.

I look at her and go WOW!
SHe looks at me and goes "get away from me."
She loves me
I love her
But I need sex.
If she was even moderately horny I'd be happy.
It's sad to me.

#7 kinda... we don't have an open relationship per se' we do swing and play as a couple. Full swap etc. She likes to see me with other women and I like to see her with other guys... afterwards we want them to leave and us to be only with each other... we feel it keeps the closeness when we are the last ones to have sex with one another before the night/day is done. It was odd the first time but it has actually made our relationship much stronger, there is more trust and openess than you could imagine.
