I remember a time when Backpage was never mentioned on the news. I advertised there for a long time and some of my best clients came from that site.
For a lot of my clients, Backpage was just the "go-to" when looking for adult entertainment. After all, if you search for "escorts in [insert city here]" Backpage was almost always the first site to pop up in the search.

Rather than blathering and lying about what they are up to, they should have defended their right to facilitate the right of women to own their bodies and do with them what they will. Yes, I'm being a bit delirious, but I can dream, can't I?
A lot of women in the hobby will be negatively affected if they close, but on the other hand, LE won't be able to plant stings as easily either.
And I agree with those who say that to whatever extent they facilitated trafficking, they should face the music for that.

However, their work is not done and they will attempt to go after others. For LE, chasing hookers is easy duty and fun. It's a lot less complicated than dealing with a drug gang. Trafficking may slow down but it sure as hell won't stop because there is to much money to gain. If you are one who thought hooker prices are high now.....hold on to your ass.

Perhaps the whole thing was doctored up as part of a plot to railroad them and get them off the internet. And once the senate embarrasses them enough and gets them to stay off the radar, then the bp owners will probably just take their money and disappear without even so much as a slap on the wrist. On the other hand, if all those things that were said about them is true, then they basically shot themselves in the leg out of greed when they could have had it made, and they deserve to be held accountable for their actions.
