Did anybody catch the "Two and a Half Men" tonight (For you West Coaster it will be on now)? The episode is called "Winky-Dink Time." It may be streaming online after it airs on the WC.
Alan decides that it would be easier to higher an escort then have a relationship. There were a couple of interesting things, but it was kind of off the real thing. Here are some comments I remember:
1. Alan: "What can I get for $200?" Charlie: "Crabs." Alan: "So how much would it cost then." Charlie: "$1500" Alan: "For the whole night? Charlie: "For the hour and you get the girlfriend experience."
Well we all know that we could get the GFE for $200 a couple of years ago, but now it is round $300. It's no where near $1500 unless it is someone that like a porn star or print model.
2. Charlie eventually calls one of his girls and gets her to agree to $500. Alan: "So is that the whole cost?" Charlie: "Well there is the tip."
Again, usually in the hobby, there is no tipping, but I know I have when I really like her. They make it seem mandatory in the episode. I guess Charlie did mention "if you want something unusal.", so I guess a tip would be in order if that happened.
3. Alan: "What if I go over? Is it like a parking garage and I have to pay for another hour?" Charlie: "No it's more like toll booth and if you go over, your dick will get cut off."
Again, funny, but unlikely as ladies in this industry are not clock watchers unless they are with a strick agency. Even, then not really. But I never do that and watch the clock myself (to not go over), so I don't know what they would do if I went over.
This was on 2 1/2 men? he actually said "dick" and covered escorts...wow, can't believe they got away with that in primetime.... maybe I should start watching that show.
i believe it is from shakespeareon times when it was understood that the only time a man handed a woman money was when he was paying a prostitute (or hobby horse, as they were referred to back then).
You know I do believe most men watch the clock. I never do but somehow I really have not had anyone go over.
I guess it is the gents who watch the clock for us. I am usually busy doing something else with my head, or shall I say my head is usually pointed in another direction.
I truly enjoyed the show. Yes it was not totally accruate but do we want them to have it be and expose all that we do....NO. Jay Leno also hints to escorts and the rate of $300 all the time.
So you know that bottom line is this....men are men - HORNY. So whether it was completely accurate or not the show was still funny.
My favorite line was when he asked Charlie if she took credit cards and Charlie responded with: "where would you swipe it? "
Network TV has certainly begun to push the envelope trying to attract audience. Apparently 30-Rock and The Office will air the first new shows since the writers' strike this Thursday evening and will be pretty outrageous.
2 1/2 Men has always had very funny writing which I can't believe gets past the censors. The part I liked last night was when the hooker gave Alan his money back and left because he was driving her crazy. Alan was smiling and strutting around "Alright, I got to 2nd base for free."
