ID Check question for providers

I have a friend who has limited experince in the hobby.  Twice he was ripped off buy agency providers he found in the phone book.  In both those cases, the provider made a big fuss about careful ID checks and very carefully counted the money. But during the most recent successful encounter with an agenecy provider, there was no ID check and the girl didn't finish counting the money, saying she trusted him.  Only thing he was required to do was drop his pants before things started to prove he was not LE. So what's the deal with this?  Why would rip offs who provide no service make a fuss over ID checks but a legitimate provider did not?

Could be any number of reasons. Why ask why? Just as some Independent Providers screen less than others. Why?
I'd rather comment on the 'dropping his pants to prove he's not LE' - wrong! No one should ever go into a relationship buiding your sense of trust and security on that one! Don't know how long ago that's been 'invalid'. They can even have SEX with you, and THEN arrest you!
a) Stay away from agencies, for the most part, and look for independent escorts, b) seek out an established providers and know what the expectations are.
There's no excuse for people not doing their homework, when sites like TER, and the Boards on here help you in so many ways.
Sorry!

Why do providers ask for a drivers license for ID to prove they are not LE?? Last I checked, LE needed drivers licenses and nowhere on them do they say anything about being a cop.

IMHO, I have had the same experience. The rip off services seem to check you out more than the reputable ones. Many services want a work number and call to confirm that you work their - go figure.

I have to disagree with the independent vs. agency comment. There are rip-off independents just like there are tip-off agencies. I have found that it is best to find one or two agencies that are reputable and just work with them. The agency girls generally change giving a hobbyist variety, but the agency owners don't, which gives you more security. Just my two cents.

Not all agencies are bad news - I personally would rather work through an agency so that I don't have to answer all the phones, do all the advertising, etc.  And I still provide great service.  I also don't know where sedona got their info about L.E. being able to be serviced - they would then be breaking the law, as well!  We ask them disrobe because L.E. cannot legally expose themselves.

I find this idea of checking ID to prove the client is not an LE pretty bizzare ... exactly how difficult is it for the LE to get a Driver's License {under a fictional name} and set up appropriate business phone number?

On the other hand, a man who probably is married, and exposing himself by showing hid Driver's License seems to be far more suspicious ... what is wrong with this analysis?

The ID check isn't so much for stopping LE.  It's so you prove you are who you say you are.  That way, if the provider gets hurt, or doesn't come home after the appointment, there's a better chance of  you being found.
