I went to a providers Hotel, she gave me the room number when I arrived at location . I couldn't find her room or floor . After a couple calls telling her I'm lost in the elevator looking for her room , she told me I was at the right Hotel , the wrong location .
If that Hotel had the same amount of floors as the one I was supposed to be at , there could be a problem walking in an open door without invite , or highly unlikely , a spontaneous great time for the adventurous spirits .
If it's jarred open slightly I will lightly knock until she opens it .
If it's open all the way , I walk in .
Most of the time, when hobbying its the usual two call system. I get to the hotel, call again, get the room number and off I go. In the vast majority of cases, when I get to the room, I just knock a few times (not too loud, and not too soft) and the lady opens the door and lets me in. In a minority of cases, I get to the door and its left ajar (usually the lock bar is inserted to keep the door open an inch or two) and I am supposed to just walk in and close the door behind me. I have often wondered why some of the women do that. I thought initially it was to keep the noise down of frequent knocks at the door (assuming she is keeping a reasonably busy schedule)...but hotel staff are often walking down corridors (house maids, security, maintenance etc) and if a door is left ajar I would think it would get their attention...maybe they would think someone forgot to close their door properly. And attention is not what anyone wants. So maybe their is another rationale here I just dont see...Ladies...those of you who do this, can you help explain why you do this?
I don't think it's a good idea to leave a crack in the door, and then go take a crap or play on your puter lol. Duh...the maid or anyone for that matter can push the door.
I do my Ray Lewis dance when I get to the door...
Typically the hotel management takes care of the smoke..

...they only prop it open after your second call when they know you'll be there in 2 minutes. I don't think it arouses suspicion. We used to do it on family trips when going down the hall to get ice and stuff like that.
For one, I have ran down the hall of a hotel I am in to get a soda or ice and I will prop the door open so I didnt have to mess with that dang card key. You know red red finally green. So it happens for other reasons and I never had hotel staff fix it for me. That would tick me off.
As for the ladies I find more so than not it is done for effect. I walk in close and lock the door and turn round to see a vision of beauty pop up from out of sight. Very common with ladies that use suites. But I have seen some step out from behind that little wall that contains the bathroom. You get that, approach that can be very provocative. The comment, "The door is ajar" means eye candy ahead. Just sayin
.....that it's your room and door ajar I figure less attention drawn to myself the better. For all they know you stepped out to check on laundry or just came from another friend's relative room or .... something (that's not uncommon). Door being ajar has nothing to do with volume. It's pointless also imo knock on a door that is ajar (that's WHY I left it open/ajar duh lol) or announce yourself/say "HELLO" as if I didn't just tell you the room number 60 seconds ago. I've not once had housekeeping/other staff walk-in because they thought I forgot to close my door properly (also I try to put the DND sign on my door). Even soft knocks on a closed door can draw attention to yourself more than a slightly ajar door can (imo).
the hotel housekeeping probably don't pay attention to propped doors since theyre propped for so many different reasons. I prop then to go to the pop machine. If it make you feel better, approach the door and pull out a credit card and pretend like you're sliding your hotel key, then open the door.

They say they don't like to attract attention by knocking, and also it helps them to know that they have the right room.
I always leave the DND sign on the door.
Also, be sure to latch the door. I've had hotel staff barge in even with the DND sign on.
There is nothing more obvious than knocking on a hotel door, especially when housekeeping is down the hall. I've been in the situation where the maid is working next door and I'm knocking on the provider's door and she came out thinking I was knocking on her door.
Good providers can time opening the door just as you're arriving. If it's ajar, walk in and latch it behind you. No sweat, looks like you belong there.
I guess they do it to avoid the constant know especially if the maids are around
A smart lady taught me to (if needed) make a noise by jiggling the doorknob, NOT by knocking. Who knocks on a hotel room door?
One time I got to the room and the door was closed, but the door directly opposite, on the other side of the hallway was held open by the security lever. I'm thinking "WTF, did she give me the wrong number?". Nope, just coincidence...
Or two providers working directly across the hall from each other. Ran into that situation a few months back, lol.
doesn’t have a bottle in his hand, cigarette in his mouth (exaggeration of course) and drooling all over before they completely open the door to let you in.
As far as the Hotel workers are concerned, they have seen worse than leaving the door cracked and are insensitive to most of the things they see and you think it is not normal. They really don’t give a fuck about little things you do. You need to get out out and travel a bit.
If anyone is coming in my room, it's because I specifically let them in after looking at them through the peep hole.
And lots of people knock on hotel room doors. I'm not sure why some folks think they don't. Family and friends visit people in hotel rooms. And I've had MANY work meetings, and even interviews, in hotel rooms.
Nor am I. I have seen at max 2 guys in a day when I use hotels and they are usually 6 hours apart from each other. When I get that text that he is on the way to the room, I go unlock the door, stand right by it, and then open it MYSELF just as he approaches. No knocking required, though knocking is done a million times a day by the maids themselves, so why would it be a big shocker? Some people really watch too much damn CSI.
Had a few myself over the years. What you think is abnormal and raise suspicion is quite normal in many cases. It is the way of the world.
They only keep the door open for a little bit, anyway, so the risk of someone not being invited walking in is very low.
Looking through the peephole. When I notice you walk up, like magic, the door opens for you. I peek my head around (if I'm barely clothed) so you know you're in the right room and should c'mon in. I have it cracked open so you DON'T have to knock.
When vacationing or attending weddings with my large family, we often have 2, 3, or more rooms among our families. We often leave them ajar so we all can easily go from room to room as desired.
It can't be so uncommon that housekeeping would notice and be concerned.
When seeing one of my favorites, she would often leave the door this way. Seldom have I had that happen with someone new, and when that happens, they usually say so when giving the room number. But if I saw it that way, I would assume I should just enter. I can't imagine someone leaving the door ajar like that and not expecting a quick, quiet entry.
As one who prefers late morning/early afternoon appointments, I have housekeeping issues frequently. My technique if they are close by is often to 'look for my key' as I approach the door. I'll feel around in my pockets for a moment after I knock too. It may not fool everyone, but I still think it looks better than looking around nervously or otherwise seeming suspicious.
